Job Summary
We are looking for an Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) expert to support senior management onsite to ensure compliance with the OHS policy and associated procedures. In this role, you will drive continuous improvement towards the Tetra Pak goal of zero accidents and work-related ill health. Your main role is to ensure delivery of the Corporate OHS strategy to Tetra Pak sites/factories. You will lead a small site OHS team and drive change in the majority of OHS subjects without external support.
In the factories you will also lead activities related to environment to ensure internal and external compliance to environmental related policies and regulations, provide leadership in all the areas of safety, health and environment.
This position is office based in Hamilton, NZ.
You will travel up to 25% of your time.

What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Be in charge of the OHS and Environment in our PackMat and AddMat factories.
- Provide OHS and Environment advice and guidance to their site director/Managing Director/Factory Director.
- Establish and maintain systems to support the Group OHS/Environment policy/procedures and local legislation.
- Maintain a record of OHS/Environment incidents and monitor completion of follow-up actions.
- Monitor compliance with agreed site OHS/Environment policies and procedures.
- Ensure that an OHS/Environment training plan is in place to cover the significant risks on the site.
- Ensure timely delivery of correct data to agreed internal and external social and environmental reporting platforms (i.e. SoFi, Sedex questionnaires).
- Ensure third party audits are planned and executed according to group requirements in the areas of Safety, Health and Environment and legal compliance, (i.e. Sedex, ISO 14001).
- Prohibit any activity from continuing that is considered a danger or a significant breach of OHS/Environment legislation.
We believe you have
- At least 4 years of proven experience in a OHS or SHE role, ideally including a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years in management role.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / NEBOSH certificate is preferable.
- Experience in implementing regulatory standards on manufacturing area is preferable.
- Experience in managing security aspects.
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal health, safety & environmental regulations.
- Ideally some knowledge of Continuous Improvement (WCM/TPM knowledge related to EHS Pillar).
- Demonstrated proficiency in Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
