Job Summary
We’re looking for a Production Engineer who thrives on being hands-on in the manufacturing environment. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with production teams on the shop floor, ensuring smooth operations, solving technical challenges, and driving continuous improvements in processes and equipment.
The position is based in Winsted, MN, reporting to the Industrial Engineering & World Class Management (WCM) Manager.
This role requires up to 10% travel, depending on business needs.
What you will do
As a Production Engineer you will:
- Support production in ensuring a smooth manufacturing process.
- Lead and/or participate in Manufacturing Process Optimization for all existing machines in the production portfolio for the factory, new products under development and products under transfer in the factory
- Co-ordinate the production quotation process between supply chain functions and production for non-standard products.
- Take ownership of master-data (m-BOM, SOP, Quality control plans, workflow and routing, machine manufacturing manuals) related to manufacturing process and keep up to date and enhance quality
- Support Industrial engineers in projects (product development, core transfer, investment, development in manufacturing capability) as core team or extended team member by bringing his / her expertise to improve product manufacturing and increase process capability
- Support all manufacturing functions (production, quality, supplier mgmt., planning) and engineering every time product specs / tolerances / manufacturing process requires improvement and when issues appear.
- Participate in developing training programs and competence development plans (e.g. welding academy) to enhance knowledge / competence and improve induction programs
- Support the APM Pillar and Autonomous Teams in implementing their Kaizen/Continuous Improvement ideas and other WCM activities
- Understand and disseminate component manuals to convey technical information to production operators.
- Conduct time studies, motion studies, process mapping, value stream mapping, Single Event Analysis, etc. to identify losses in our manufacturing processes and in turn propose and execute the countermeasures. Countermeasures can also be implemented by new cutting-edge technologies.
We believe you have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering – preferably but not limited to Mechanical, Production and Industrial Engineering
- Fluency in both written and spoken English. Spanish would be a plus.
- 0-1 years of working experience in a Production/Manufacturing Environment. Internships would count as experience too.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, tools and methods.
- AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks or any CAD Software proficiency to design jigs and fixtures and perform stress analysis to validate the design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office like Word, PowerPoint, Excel. PowerBI would be a plus.
- Lean and Agile Manufacturing Techniques’ knowledge.
- A positive attitude and continuous learning mindset with a hands-on approach to solving problems.
Pay Equity
Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.
- Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $58,700.00– $75,500.00.
- Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS.
