Job Summary

We are looking for a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Leader who will establish and maintain a local Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and environmental management system at our Production Center in Winsted, and to ensure compliance with Group OHS Policy and local legal requirements as well as create an increased safety culture within the Production Centre.  
The position as SHE Leader will be part of the Factory Leadership team and will be based in Winsted, Minnesota. 

Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or international relocation for this position.

What you will do

As a Safety, Health & Environmental Leader, you will: 

  • Establish and maintain systems for compliance with the Group Safety Health and Environment policies and local legislation.
  • Monitor compliance with local legal requirements, corporate OHS and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that a Safety Health and Environment training program is in place to cover the local legal requirements and significant risks on the site.
  • Drive Safety Health and Environment key performance indicators in the factory.
  • Ensure all significant risks and Environment aspects are appropriately identified and managed to acceptable levels.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve safety proactive and preventive tools.
  • Maintain a record of accidents and incidents and monitor completion of follow up actions via MyOHS. Collaborate along with cells supporting the investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. 
  • Lead the governance on hazard identification and risk analysis (HIRA and JSA). Assists in developing and leading OHS training programs to cover the significant risks and OSHA requirements. 
  • Keeps procedures current to defined process standards and legal requirements. Promote daily site inspections addressing safety and environment issues. 
  • Drive ISO 45001 governance, leading Internal Audits, Management Review, procedures etc. Lead daily safety inspections (gemba). 
  • Perform periodic AM/PM audits. Assist in ensuring required safety, environmental, OSHA, and other certifications and documentation are completed and are update.
  • Lead/Participate in Safety & Health Pillar and Lead all items related with emergency response team (FAST). Promote trainings, emergency drills etc. 
  • Promotes timely communications, positive safety culture, and the involvement of all employees. Drive the culture change program through the Safety Dialogue process and Safety and Me (SAM) program. 

We believe you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field. 
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Occupational, Health & Safety field in a manufacturing environment, doing similar activities, such as managing the cultural change, ensuring legal compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Experience working with OHS and OSHA’s standards. 
  • High level of understanding of WCM methodology. 
  • A plus to have OSHA General Industry 30- or 10-hour course and the American Society of Safety Professionals CSP, ASP, or OHST certification. (Preferably experience in Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Contruction and Pharmaceutical industries.) 
  • You should:
    • Have a strong customer focus.
    • Have an advanced use of Excel.
    • Be fluent in speaking and writing English.
    • Have good communication and stakeholders’ management skills.
    • Able to travel up to 10-15 % of the time.
