Job Summary
Tetra Pak’s ambitious Cheese and Powder Division, a leading supplier of cheese production lines, looking for a Cheese Technologist. Our team is growing, and we are now looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team. In this position, you will be a technical lead, developing and delivering technical solutions to our customers as part of the pre-projects and projects team and support in all phases of our projects.
As our new Cheese Technologist for our cheddar and mozzarella portfolio you will support the company’s Cheese operational and sales team. This opportunity offers unlimited career growth with an industry leader.
Your office is located in Winsted, MN, if needed home based anywhere in the United States is an option. Part of your employment is regularly visiting cheese dairies for few days or occasionally a few weeks all over the globe (primarily Europa and North Americas).
What you will do
As Cheese Technologist you will:
- Lead commissioning into full production mode and handover of cheese lines.
- Support customer staff in setting up and optimizing machine parameters and cheese make recipes.
- Be a leader in Cheddar & Mozzarella cheese make technology.
- Ability to act as supporting cheese technologist in other categories Fresh cheese, (semi) Hard cheese and industrial pasta filata cheese is a pre.
- Train Tetra Pak and customers’ staff members in the functionality and operation of cheese make equipment and lines.
- Support our sales teams by presenting Tetra Pak value added propositions for specific customer solution in the Cheese area.
- Lead audits and surveys at customers in order to understand the technological and business needs of the customer.
- Understand customer business needs and transfer them into fitting processing solutions and matching performance targets and pay-back calculations.
- Support the drafting and negotiation of contracts with co-workers, suppliers and customers.
- Lead trials to convince customers or to improve existing or develop new applications.
- Assist the functional verifications of cheese make equipment.
- Contribute actively to the Sales and Service Strategy.
- Support New Product and Process development.
We believe you have
- A Bachelor’s / University degree within Dairy Science, Food Science, Engineering or equivalent level achieved through experience.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Cheese Manufacturing environment or dairy ingredients/equipment background.
- Cheese manufacturing or Cheese process or product development experience.
- Ideally some experience providing sales support and managing available cost budget.
- Fluent English skills (written and spoken). German, French or Spanish language skills are a pre.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
