Job Summary

Tetra Pak has created a new organisation called Factory Sustainable Solutions and OEM Components. The organisation consists of two parts where the OEM Components team is already well- established, and the Factory Sustainable Solutions team is brand new. 

The Factory Sustainable Solution team is responsible for developing and to globally drive the business in energy optimisation, water recovery and CIP optimisation. To this new organisation we are now recruiting a Water & Energy Engineer. 

The organisation belongs to Business Sector Key Components, Plant Solutions & Channel Management in Processing Equipment AB.

The position is located in Warsaw, Poland but you will work in a global arena. 

What you will do

By offering optimised solutions on factory level we enable our customers to reduce their environmental footprint while also reducing their utility costs. The Center of Expertise is responsible for the full factory understanding with regards to heat recovery and energy balance as well as water, wastewater management and CIP optimisation. 

In this role you will be involved in new opportunities related to Factory wide sustainable design. You will support pre-projects and other stakeholders. In this role you need to ensure you obtain the necessary data and understand the customer needs. Then you need to analyse the data and identify different alternatives that will help our customers reduce their environmental footprint. 

Your responsibilities include doing calculations while handling a lot of uncertainties. It is an advantage if you have previous experience and/or understanding of the integration of high temperature heat pumps and boilers. 

You will work closely with the Project Organisation, particularly in the pre-project phase, but you will also interact with other stakeholders such as market operations and Services.

Responsibilities: 

  • For each new opportunity analyse the data available and identify different alternatives for a sustainable plant design 
  • Collaborate and interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure you obtain the necessary data and understand the customer needs 
  • Make the necessary calculations to offer a sustainable plant design solution. Calculations can be on plant level and/or include heat recovery and energy balance, Sankey diagrams and pinch analysis. Alternatively, you have more expertise in one of the areas, water or energy, and will then do calculations specifically for solutions within your area of expertise.   
  • Have a good understanding of the role of industrial heat pumps and solar thermal solutions or water recovery solutions and select the right solution depending on customer needs 
  • Develop and present a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) based on the sustainable plant design solution for the specific customer
  • Provide input and ideas on how to improve our offer on energy optimisation, water recovery and CIP optimisation on plant level 
  • When needed meet with customers and represent the Factory Sustainable Solutions organisation
  • Participate in maintaining and improving adequate application tools

We believe you have

  • University degree or equivalent in Sustainable Energy engineering or similar work experience 
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience e.g. probably within energy, water, wastewater or food
  • Competence within the area of energy/mass balance on factory level and industrial heat pumps is a plus, alternatively you have experience and expertise in the area of water recovery and assessments
  • It is an advantage if you have an interest in sustainability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good computer literacy. 
  • Fluent English language knowledge
