Mechanical Design Engineer Dryer


Within Tetra Pak’s business stream Powder, we are now looking for a new colleague to fulfil the role of Mechanical Design Engineer Dryer.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be part of an engineering team which delivers mechanical design specifications and solutions for powder plants worldwide. In addition to that the Mechanical Engineering Dryer team also supports sales, purchasing, issue resolution and development projects. You will be part of an international group of engineers.
To fulfil the role, you might need to travel on a regular base.
The position is based in Vernon Hills, IL.
To fulfil the role, you may be required to travel on a regular base.
Tetra Pak is not considering applicants (Internal or External) who require International relocation to the United States.  

What you will do

 

As a Mechanical Design Engineer Dryer, you will:

 

  • Engineer / draft equipment and lay-outs.
  • Create specifications for supplier components and equipment.
  • Support / execute workshop and equipment quality inspections worldwide.
  • Support Sales with specifications and request for quotation packages.
  • Troubleshoot when there are problems in the field and/or during production.
  • Create and check technical files including calculations, documentation and information like spare parts, manuals and certificates.
  • Participate in development projects
  • Plan own activities and external drafting resources when needed.

We believe you have

 

  • A bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering or acquired through experience.
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with equipment engineering in food / dairy industry is an advantage.
  • Experience with a 3D design tool, preferably Autodesk Inventor or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Both a team player as well able to work independent
  • Strong organizing, structured and problem-solving skills
