Job Summary

 

Lead Process Engineer


The position is located at 600 Bunker Court, Vernon Hills, IL 60061. 
30-40% domestic travel and 10% international travel required. 
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position. 

What you will do

 

As a Lead Process Engineer, you will:

 

Manage process planning and design phases for industrial engineering projects. Devise process solutions for complex Tetra Pak lines, including dryers and other customized machines and equipment. Apply knowledge of engineering systems and practices to facilitate project execution. Responsible for guiding engineering teams to determine project priorities and improvement areas to achieve project results and positively impact business projections. Design and develop process management tools to calculate process specifications and equipment capacity parameters, lay out the operational design, and give direct feedback to the Product Management team. Communicate with clients by acting as a trusted resource during pre-project client presentations and pre-commissioning inspections and planning. Responsible for meeting project milestones on time and in full according to the defined budget. Responsible for driving productivity through each project phase by utilizing and creating effective and reusable solutions, standard component lists, and functional processes. Develop and improve processes, templates, and tools to ensure alignment with Tetra Pak's process guidelines and business objectives. Manage changes to the project scope and negotiate variation orders. Act as a mentor and train others within Tetra Pak as well as relevant client personnel.

We believe you have

 

Bachelor’s degree in food engineering or related field, and 5 years of experience in Process Engineering Dryers or related.

 

Must have work experience with:

 

1.    Dryer factory Installation following European and US regulatory standards including USDA, PMO, EHEDG, and 3A.
2.    Process dryers engineering and its battery limits including evaporator, powder handling, milk treatment, and line solution.
3.    Processing Engineering for spray dryers.
4.    AutoCad, SAP and Microsoft Office (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point).
5.    European and U.S. regulatory standards for explosion protection and explosive atmospheres frequent with powders including experience with EHEDG, ATEX, USDA - 3A, and NFPA.
6.    Process and instrumentation diagrams drafting for food industry in accordance with relevant local or international regulatory organizations (USDA, PMO, FDA, 3A, and EU).
7.    Spray Dryers commissioning and product start up.
