Job Summary
Ice Cream Category Manager (multiple openings)
Position is located at 600 Bunker Court, Vernon Hills, IL 60061.
30% domestic and international travel.
Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.
What you will do
As an Ice Cream Category Manager, you will:
Drive mutual sustainable growth for both new and existing Ice Cream customers by building strong customer relationships while identifying and capturing short, medium, and long-term business opportunities. Establish strategies and lead the implementation of the action plans towards strategic Ice Cream customers. Bring market feedback and new product needs to the central Ice Cream Business Stream team, ensuring that our portfolio of Ice Cream solutions, services, and equipment meet the current and future need of the U.S. and Canada market region. Participate in industry meetings and maintain a network of connections through channels such as social networking and industry events. Drive understanding of the customers’ overall business and Ice Cream market trends, anticipating industry needs in the short and long term. Align with the global category plan developed by the central Ice Cream Business Stream. Support and guide the project implementation teams and coordinate cross functional activities. Lead a team to drive the category growth and profitability by authorizing personnel actions; recruiting, assigning tasks, monitoring work in progress, reviewing work products, and providing direction. Oversee the preparation, delivery, and follow up on quotations to address customer expectations. Manage customer issue resolutions to ensure that customer issues are resolved in a timely manner and the resolutions are accepted by the customers. Ensure full compliance with the Tetra Pak Global Commercial Policy. Drive up-to-date knowledge and full deployment of sales and services portfolio deployed in full, meeting competitiveness requirements and delivering strong value proposition.
We believe you have
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of experience in the ice cream equipment business, account management, and equipment sales.
Must also have work experience in:
1. Ice Cream machinery and equipment in the food processing sector which include pasteurizers, homogenizers, continuous and batch freezers, mixing and blending equipment, filling and packaging machines, Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems, refrigeration systems, and conveying systems and automated handling equipment;
2. Sales and negotiation within the industrial equipment or food processing sectors including identification of customer needs, presentation of tailored solutions, closing high-value deals, contract negotiation, consultative selling, pipeline management, target achievement, and cross-functional collaboration;
3. Conducting market research and competitive analysis within the food processing and ice cream equipment sectors using platforms such as Mintel, GlobalData, or Euromonitor, engaging with specialized food industry publications, conducting customer profiling, and conducting competitive benchmarking;
4. Using CRM platforms such as Salesforce; and
5. Project Management Skills.

Pay Equity
Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.
• Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $194,043.00 to $204,000.00.
• Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS.
