Job Summary

We are looking for an expert who will design, implement and validate complex automation projects by providing technical support to our customers. You will be an individual contributor who will collaborate in automation projects that have a high component of innovation and are strongly oriented to comply with Tetra Pak and Customer quality standards.
The ideal candidate can be located anywhere within US, with preference to be based or relocate to Denton, TX, Vernon Hills, IL or Winsted, MN.
You will be travelling up to 75% of your time to our customer sites.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do


As an Automation Specialist you will:

  • Carry out automation remote support, service and start-ups for Tetra Pak processing equipment.
  • Prepare and implement upgrades on automation systems.
  • Work with and fault find on programmable control systems, network, database, IO Servers and Scada systems.
  • Support VM Ware environments remotely across the American continent.
  • Work with Service Engineers, Sales Support and Issue Resolution.
  • Carry out customer visits, assisting the local account managers and Service Manager.
  • Analyze system design and create original or modify existing HMI, database and PLC Programs to meet project requirements.
  • Support projects with integration between automation core (factory floor) and digitalization systems (data on cloud, dashboards, AI and smart devices).

We believe you have

  • Degree in Automation, Electronics, Mechanical, Robotics Engineering or related field.
  • Solid experience in the industrial automation sector.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience at food & beverage and/or pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience programming and implementing automation systems is required.
  • Good Knowledge and proven understanding of automation platforms, systems design, processing equipment and processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge in PLC’s Allen Bradley, networks Ethernet, AS-I Bus / Industrial network configuration, Wonderware Intouch and Factory Talk View (HMI, UI) Interfaces is required.
  • Knowledge in PLC’s Siemens (Step7/TIA Portal) is preferred.
  • Experience with Tetra Pak Automation Platform (Plat Master) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data bases SQL Microsoft server, Oracle, etc. is preferred.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD and SAP/R3.
    • The ability to work within a virtual team.
    • Understanding of Customer Satisfaction.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Self-motivating personality.
    • Ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Able to undertake continual training and further development of skills.
    • Self-motivation to work with people from different cultures, share knowledge and collaborate with other team mates even virtually/remotely.
