As a Service Engineer, you’ll lead the charge of delivering high-quality service to our customers. From troubleshooting complex issues to training operators and supporting contract performance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our equipment—and our customer relationships—run smoothly.

 

As a part of our Customer Service Operations team, you will be first in the field to maintain food processing and packaging equipment at our customers’ facilities. This role offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise while making a meaningful impact on food, people, and the planet. It is a home‑based position covering the Canadian region with travel to customer sites across Canada.
 
Tetra Pak is not able to consider applicants who require international relocation to the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this position.

What you will do

As a Maintenance Engineer you will:

 

  • Travel to customer sites to:
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations
    • Analyze technical issues and escalate when needed using standard operating processes
    • Train customer operators and support production efficiency
    • Perform installation, commissioning, and performance validation of Capital Equipment at customer sites in alignment with the Installation-to-Performance (ItP) process
    • Serve as lead engineer for Level 1 and Level 2 Capital Equipment installations, ensuring adherence to the ItP framework and customer requirements
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of preventive maintenance activities, maintaining compliance with the defined scope of service Efficiently reinstate equipment and production lines to operational status in accordance with agreed service targets
    • Conduct root cause analysis, restore baseline operating conditions, and troubleshoot mechanical and electro-mechanical issues to ensure optimal system performance
  • Monitor service contracts and contribute to business development
  • Ensure compliance with safety, food quality, and reporting standards
  • Represent Tetra Pak professionally and contribute ideas for improving customer operations and service delivery
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Follow all safety protocols in accordance to OHS and Tetra Pak safety regulations and promote a safe working culture in the team


 

We believe you have

 

  • Plus 5 years’ experience in installations, maintenance and/or service work.
  • Capability of independently performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting industrial systems, executing installation task, completing rebuilding kit operations, and managing system upgrade implementations.
  • Education in industrial systems, automation, or process engineering
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment is required.
  • Proven ability to independently perform preventive maintenance, equipment installations, and rebuilding kit tasks.
  • Strong automation knowledge in Allen Bradley frequency drives, GE Fanuc, Rockwell RSLogix 5000, DeviceNet, and Ethernet communication, or similar technologies. Familiarity with PAM/SAM and DMC is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% of the time since this position is on site
  • Intermediate level of English (written and verbal)
    • A growth mindset, indicating a willingness to learn and develop technical skills
    • A proactive, safety-first approach
    • A valid driver's license is required for extensive travel to customer sites by car and air.

Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in Ontario, Canada.

Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.

  • Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $75,700.00– $108,000.00 CAD
  • Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
