Job Summary
The Supplier Quality Development Engineer plays a key role in strengthening supplier quality performance. The position involves evaluating supplier capabilities, driving corrective actions, and leading continuous improvement activities. The role supports cross-functional collaboration and ensures that supplier products and processes align with internal standards and expectations, contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of the supply chain. Additionally, the role acts as a key point of reference for the PSE Capital Equipment Projects, Procurement Equipment Projects & Services and Procurement Regional Coordination, providing expert support in supplier-related quality matters and strategic initiatives.
What you will do
In the new role, you will be responsible for
- Conducting supplier assessments on quality systems, processes, and products, report findings to stakeholders.
- Monitoring Supplier Improvement Plans and escalate major deviations.
- Leading transversal quality improvement initiatives and support suppliers in enhancing quality tools and methods (e.g., P-FMEA, Problem Solving).
- Executing Manufacturing Validation activities (PPAP).
- Driving corrective actions to resolve supplier-related issues and collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment.
- Participating in New Product Introduction audits and strategic supplier projects.
- Reporting key quality indicators and KPIs to the Quality Maintenance Manager.
- Attending technical meetings to stay informed on component and module changes related to assigned suppliers.
We believe you have
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality management, quality assurance, quality control and WCM.
- Proven experience in supplier audits, manufacturing validation, and corrective action management.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Welding expertise is a key requirement, including knowledge of welding processes, standards, and inspection techniques. VT Level 2 certified welding inspector is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities across teams and suppliers, and to facilitate discussions effectively both internally and externally.
- University Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: MBA, MA, MSc, CPS, ML or equivalent advanced qualification
