Job Summary

 

Would you like to join our Supplier Management team, creating our future cluster category strategies for Processing Solutions & Equipment?

The Supplier Management team for PSE & Services are responsible of ensuring we have a high performing supplier base supporting our business stakeholders in Processing Solutions & Equipment with ambition to drive and optimize the global and local performance of our supplier cost base. 
We are now looking for a Supplier Manager to strengthen our Supplier Management team.

In this role you will work in close cooperation with our business stakeholders, our project teams, the global organizations, and our suppliers. You will be responsible for Professional Services & Automation categories including the supplier base, taking an active part in the creation and execution of our category strategy in alignment with global strategy. You will perform spend and market analysis, execute strategic sourcing projects, implement, and manage contracts. You will lead and manage the category network towards the set targets where you can heavily influence the activities and results. The category broadly covers all 3 business areas in our Process Solutions & Equipment, Services streams covering areas on MED, OEM, Installation & Professional services, as well as Automation solutions.
This role also entails responsibility & covering the PSE Supplier Management activities for Japan market.

In this position you will have no direct reports, but you will build on strengthening a network throughout the cluster supporting in these areas.
The position reports to Procurement Manager Japan & Korea.

What you will do

As our Supplier Manager, you will:

 

  • Be responsible for categories within Processing Solutions and Equipment related to the purchasing activities of Markets Japan and Korea.
  • Develop and execute category strategies, driving performance in line with business objectives and targets, with a focus on cost reduction.
  • Implement strategic improvements and activities as part of the global category portfolio, particularly for Japan, focusing on medium/small spend areas without a dedicated team.
  • Execute sourcing and contracting based on global and regional category strategies.
  • Ensure compliance within the Supplier Management process.
  • Lead project procurement activities.
  • Manage sourcing, contracting, and the existing supplier base.
  • Support sourcing projects in Project Centers for Japan.
  • Drive the implementation of global strategies and projects.
  • Focus on performance improvements in quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers as part of a key stakeholder team.
  • Act as a conduit between global and local teams for respective categories.
  • Manage relationships with senior management stakeholders, including Processing Directors, Project Center Managers, and Financial Directors.
  • Travel within the market area as required.

We believe you have

 

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering, with over 5 years in sourcing management, contracting, and project management, preferably in global or international settings.
  • Experience in direct procurement related to mechanical, electrical engineering, and automation/fabrication industries is an advantage.
  • Solid background in strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Proven track record in leadership, negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
  • Results-oriented, driven, and analytical with a passion for business partnership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-border interactions.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English.
