Our offer spans packaging, processing equipment, integrated services, and digital solutions that help customers improve performance and reduce environmental impact.
We are hiring a Senior Process Engineer to turn customer needs into robust, efficient process designs that enable safe, high‑quality food production. You will work within our processing engineering team as an individual contributor and technical lead, coordinating other engineers when the project demands it. Your remit covers the full lifecycle—from early concept and quotation, through detailed design and design reviews, to commissioning and performance validation—partnering closely with Project Managers, customers, and suppliers to deliver outcomes that support food safety, operational excellence, and sustainability.
What makes this role stand out is the breadth of exposure and impact. You will shape end‑to‑end solutions used by leading food and beverage producers, gaining hands‑on experience with complex systems and modern tools while building long‑term customer relationships. You’ll have room to influence technical choices, drive standardization and reusable designs, and see the tangible results of your work on production floors, helping our customers optimize resources and reduce waste, in line with Tetra Pak’s sustainability ambitions.
You will be based in Santiago, Chile.
You may be required to travel to customer sites up to 30% of your time.
Tetra Pak may sponsor work visas or relocation for this position.
What you will do
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will:
- Translate customer needs into safe, efficient end‑to‑end process designs that improve product quality, throughput, and total cost of ownership;
- Lead the process engineering scope across projects—owning design reviews, coordinating other engineers when needed, and ensuring decisions are timely, traceable, and standards‑compliant;
- Drive competitive, accurate quotations and solution scoping for capital projects, balancing technical soundness with commercial viability;
- Develop and optimize process concepts, mass balances, and line capacities to meet performance targets while reducing waste, energy, and water use;
- Champion standardization by creating, reusing, and improving reference designs and libraries to accelerate delivery and consistency;
- Partner with the Project Manager to control scope, schedule, risks, and budget for all process‑related deliverables, enabling on‑time, on‑quality execution;
- Engage directly with customers and key suppliers—facilitating technical discussions, aligning on specifications, and building long‑term trust;
- Ensure design‑for‑safety and design‑for‑maintenance principles, documentation quality, and seamless handover from engineering to execution and service;
- Lead or support site activities (installation, commissioning, performance validation) to confirm contractual performance and a smooth start‑up;
- Resolve technical issues using structured root‑cause methods, turning learnings into preventive actions and design updates;
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering an inclusive, feedback‑rich environment and a strong safety and quality culture.
We believe you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Food, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or related fields;
- Experience and knowledge in liquid and semi‑liquid production technologies;
- At least 5 years of experience in project engineering, project implementation, and technical project management;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D;
- Advanced English (mandatory);
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time;
- Strong communication, planning, and leadership skills, with a consistent problem‑solving mindset.
We Offer You
- A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape
- A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results
- An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
- Market competitive compensation and benefits with flexible working arrangements
