Job Summary

We are looking for a Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations

In this role you will  drive the implementation of the Tetra Pak Public Affairs strategy in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay   to ensure a regulatory environment that supports, and/or does not harm, our business objectives. 

The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil.

You may be required to travel up to 25 % of your time regionally.

Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What will you do

As a Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations  you will:

  • Monitor and analyse relevant policy topics and files and alert market company and wider business on possible challenges
  • Manage a portfolio of relevant policy issues related to our business and supply chain (incl but not limited to circular economy, food policies, climate and biodiversity, taxes, trade and others
  • Build and manage relationships policy-makers, government officials and agencies and their key influencers representing businesses and civil society
  • Represent Tetra Pak in relevant industry associations and stakeholder platforms 
  • Lead the development and execution of public affairs and advocacy initiatives to support Tetra Pak’s business and the one of our customers 
  • Advise, support and closely collaborate with the market team on all public affairs and government relations matters
  • Be a part of the global extended leadership team of our Corporate Affairs function and work very closely with our communications, sustainability and legal team.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor degree required. Advanced Degree in public policy, international affairs, political science, law and/or similar preferred.
  • Solid Public Affairs experience gained in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina in a similar role in a multinational company or Public Affairs firm; preferably related to the  Fast-moving consumer goods
  • ( FMCG ), food, beverage or packaging industry
  • Significant experience in public affairs, government affairs, environment, sustainability, food and consumer health policy issues; deploying advocacy campaigns and working in cross-functional team and business leaders.
  • Portuguese,English and Spanish fluent.
  • String oral and written communications skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong team player, culturally sensitive, diplomacy and tact
  • Strong ability to build relationships and use influence with key constituencies.
  • Recognized as a creative and independent thinker who clearly articulates public policy ideas and can develop solutions that lead to workable regulatory outcomes for Tetra Pak
