Job Summary


We are now looking a Buyer, this position is pivotal in performing Sourcing, Contracting and Supplier Base Management and will develop relationship with internal stakeholders, drive supplier’s performance, manage risk and secure supply of the Procurement operations for Indirect services and materials for Mexico, in categories such as MRO, construction services, installation services and CAPEX, among others. 
You will be based at the Queretaro factory. 
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do


As a Buyer you will: 

  • Develops and maintains strong stakeholder management relationships. Communicates results and acts as a proactive Business Partner.
  • Drives compliance to category strategy, supplier base plan, supplier management processes, contracts, and best practices.
  • Drive sourcing and contracting based on business need in line with supplier management strategies.
  • Managing all the supplier selection process and procurement activities using RFIs / RFQ / RFP, evaluating together with stakeholders to select the right suppliers.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current, new, and potential service providers, as well as implementing common agenda with key suppliers.
  • Analysis and negotiation of prices and conditions of supplier contracts; working with the legal department to prepare the required clauses based on policies, business requirements and sourcing critical terms. 
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting vendor performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Monitoring and resolution of internal claims from stakeholders in terms of quality or service level from suppliers.
  • Risk management and development of contingency plans 
  • Track the creation of purchase orders, goods receipts, and payments in conjunction with the assigned operational buyer.
  • Teamwork with other local, regional, and global Buyers 

We believe you have


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent is preferable 
  • Must be English speaker and fluent in Spanish 
  • +5 years in a Buyer role with experience on strategic sourcing, analyzing and negotiating prices, terms and conditions, contracting and managing supplier relations  
  • Required experience in Ariba Sourcing and Contracting modules, as well as Ariba SAP Purchase to Order process
  • Proved knowledge and experience in Strategic sourcing process, evaluating prices, terms and conditions and negotiating with suppliers
  • Strong customer service orientation, manage change and conflict in a highly changing environment with constant increased needs.
