Job Summary

The Sustainability Manager, EMEA acts as the Sustainability Business Partner for Facilities and Real Estate Management (FREM), driving the integration of sustainability across regional operations. This role translates global goals into actionable plans, oversees program delivery with internal teams and external partners, and leads transformation efforts to meet the company’s environmental and social ambitions. 

This is a permanent position based in any of our EMEA locations, with flexible work arrangements 

What you will do

As a key member of the EMEA Sustainability team, you will play an expert role in driving and overseeing critical sustainability initiatives, collaborating with senior leaders and external partners to deliver impactful, region-wide decarbonization and energy management projects. 

As our new colleague you will: 

  • Partner with the business across the EMEA region to support the delivery of global sustainability goals by working closely with senior leaders and site teams. Your role is to drive the sustainability agenda and enable aligned, informed decision-making. 
  • Oversee project delivery for key sustainability initiatives—such as decarbonization, energy and nature programs, and fleet & mobility—by collaborating with external partner. 
  • Manage end-to-end energy management—including forecasting, budgeting, cost optimization, deployment, communication, and business partnering. Together with global and external partners, you will implement energy optimization programs, ensuring effective delivery and measurable impact 
  • Manage the sustainability portfolio, maintaining oversight to guarantee alignment with strategy, proper resourcing, and strong delivery performance.  

We believe you have

  • A minimum 10 years of experience in sustainability, with the ability to engage senior leadership and operate confidently in complex environments. 
  • Practical understanding of sustainability, especially in energy management and decarbonization. Able to apply concepts in a business and operational context. 
  • Proven ability to partner with diverse internal stakeholders and influence without authority. Skilled in managing relationships across functions and seniority levels. 
  • Experience working with external vendors and delivery partners in a collaborative, performance-driven way. Able to align execution with business goals. 
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is required. 
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or real estate environments is preferred, particularly in roles involving energy or sustainability initiatives. 
  • Strong in strategic thinking, communication, adaptability, and tactical execution. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environments.
