Job Summary

We are looking for a professional who will provide accurate information for financial reporting and have a good understanding of processes within their area of responsibility. The candidate should work independently within established procedures and practices. In this position, you will report to the Assistant Manager of PtP Finance.

The position is based in Panama City, Panama.

What you will do

As an Accounting Associate Travel and Expense you will:

  • Review employee expense reports with receipts and cash advances according to internal policies and procedures
  • Follow up unreported expenses paid with corporate cards (send periodical reminders to employees)
  • First line of support to employees (answer questions concerning travel policy)
  • Posting and reconciliation of corporate cards statements of accounts
  • Verification and issuance of travel and expense cash advances.
  • KPI analysis.
  • Review Travel Agency and Credit card Statements and coordinate booking.
  • Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules Reconciliation of unassigned lodge card transactions in Concur.
  • Various reports analysis to comply with Best Practices and Internal Controls.
  • Providing management reporting and audit support specific to the employees Travel &Expense transactions.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Administration.
  • Accounting knowledge and relevant experience, minimum 1 year.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office). Excel level is Intermediate-Advance
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal). Portuguese is a plus.
  • As a person you are a good communicator, accurate, analytical, result focused, organized and innovative/proactive.
  • Ideally you should have work experience in an international accounting department.
  • It will be an advantage to have knowledge within computerized accounting systems such as SAP and/or Concur.
