Technical Sales Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer within our Services business based in Melbourne, Australia.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be the main interface for Instrumentation, Electrical and Automation products as part of our plant components portfolio within our Services Business, and expected to enthusiastically  apply ‘value selling’ to grow profitable sales in our plant components portfolio, through your deep knowledge of customers & their needs. 

What you will do
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will:
- Manage and drive Instrumentation, Electrical and Automation sales opportunities through our plant components portfolio
- Understand customer needs through proactive continuous customer diagnosis
- Take responsibility for all customer activities, including issue resolution, to ensure a timely and positive outcome for our customers
- Work with our Key Accounts and Strategic Accounts teams to drive sales opportunities
- Identify sales opportunities, create technical solutions and value-based proposals, negotiate and close deals and drive profitable growth of our portfolio

Who you are
We believe you have:
- A technical understanding of the Instrumentation sector, with application experience and knowledge in pressure, level and flow so that you can select and support designing of instrumentation solutions to suit a customer’s needs
- Proven experience over 3+ years from a similar role. This will suit candidates with experience in field sales in Instrumentation, Electrical and Automation
- Sales experience within the food and beverage/FMCG industries would be preferable
- Experience with Endress+Hauser instrumentation, Rockwell automation, Danfoss drives, would be an advantage
- Effective communication skills & an ability to build strong relationships at all levels internally and within customer organisations
- A results driven approach & are highly motivated
- Positive energy and a ‘can do’ attitude when taking on day-to-day challenges
- An engaging approach and can effectively influence multiple stakeholders
- The confidence to contribute positively to our company culture, and embrace diversity
- Trade experience or tertiary qualifications in engineering, electrical instrumentation, business or equivalent
