We are looking for a Senior Upgrades Project Engineer to join our Services organization, focusing exclusively on process related upgrades for food and beverage producers. You will work on projects across the Americas, translating customer needs into safe, efficient, and reliable process solutions. These upgrades may include capacity increases, new applications, or component replacements such as tanks, pumps, or heat exchangers.
In this role, you will act as an experienced individual contributor and technical lead, collaborating with Upgrades Project Managers, customers, suppliers, and cross functional engineering teams. You will work across the entire project lifecycle—from early concepts and quotations to detailed design, commissioning, and performance validation—directly influencing product quality, operational efficiency, and resource use.
You will be based in Monte Mor, São Paulo.
You may be required to travel to customer sites up to 25% of your time.

What you will do
As a Senior Upgrades Project Engineer, you will:
- Translate customer needs into safe, efficient end to end process designs that improve quality, throughput, and total cost of ownership;
- Lead the process engineering scope across upgrade projects, ensuring clear decisions, solid technical reviews, and coordination of other engineers when needed;
- Develop accurate and competitive technical quotations and solution scopes, balancing technical rigor and commercial viability;
- Create and optimize process concepts, mass balances, and line capacities to meet performance targets and reduce waste, energy, and water use;
- Promote standardization by creating, reusing, and improving reference designs and engineering libraries;
- Partner with the Upgrades Project Manager to manage scope, schedule, risks, and budget for all process related deliverables;
- Engage with customers and suppliers to align technical requirements and build long term relationships based on clarity and trust;
- Apply design for safety and design for maintenance principles, ensuring high quality documentation and smooth handover to execution and service teams;
- Lead or support installation, commissioning, and performance validation to confirm contractual performance;
- Resolve technical issues using structured root cause analysis and apply learnings to continuous improvement;
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues across the Americas region to support consistent delivery and knowledge sharing;
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and enhancing tools, methodologies, and templates used in upgrade projects.
We believe you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Food, Chemical, or related fields);
- Solid experience in food processing engineering, project engineering, project implementation, or technical project management;
- Working knowledge of liquid and semi liquid production technologies;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D;
- Advanced English;
- Valid CREA professional registration, according to Brazilian engineering regulations;
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with customers and cross functional teams;
- Ability to coordinate stakeholders across different countries and cultures in te Americas region;
- Effective planning, coordination, and problem solving abilities;
- Ability to lead technical discussions, guide colleagues, and foster an inclusive, collaborative environment;
- A continuous improvement mindset, contributing to better tools, methods, and practices.
