At Tetra Pak, we work every day to make food safe and available everywhere. We do this by providing processing, packaging, and service solutions that help our customers deliver high quality food and beverages safely and sustainably.


We are now looking for an Automation Specialist to support customers with the lifecycle of their installed automation systems. In this role, you will work on upgrades, improvements, and troubleshooting activities that keep existing Tetra Pak lines running safely and efficiently. You will collaborate closely with service teams and customers across Latin America, applying your technical expertise to strengthen system performance and deliver long term value.
This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies, solve meaningful technical challenges, and gain broad exposure across different customer environments in the region.


You can be based in any of our offices in Brazil: Ponta Grossa, Belo Horizonte, Goiânia, Porto Alegre, Recife, São Paulo or Monte Mor.
You may be required to travel to customer sites across LATAM up to 75% of your time.
Tetra Pak does not offer support for visa or relocation for this position.

What you will do

 

As an Automation Specialist, you will:

  • Carry out remote support, service activities, and start ups for automation systems on installed Tetra Pak processing lines;
  • Prepare and implement automation system upgrades across customer sites;
  • Work with and troubleshoot programmable control systems, industrial networks, databases, input/output servers, and supervisory control systems (SCADA);
  • Support virtual machine environments (VMware) remotely across Latin America;
  • Collaborate with Service Engineers, account managers, and the Service Manager during customer visits and issue resolution;
  • Support sales teams by providing technical insights and contributing to solving automation related issues;
  • Analyze system designs and create or modify HMI applications, databases, and PLC programs to meet project requirements;
  • Support projects that integrate factory floor automation with digital solutions such as cloud data, dashboards, artificial intelligence, and smart devices;
  • Work effectively with customers and internal teams across different countries and cultures.

We believe you have

 

  • A degree in Automation, Electronics, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
  • Solid experience in industrial automation, with experience in food and beverage or cosmetics or pharmaceutical environments valued due to the processing of liquids and powders;
  • Advanced English proficiency, with Spanish as a valued additional language;
  • Experience programming and implementing automation systems in industrial environments;
  • Working knowledge of automation platforms, system design, processing equipment, and production processes;
  • Strong technical knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Ethernet networks, AS Interface industrial networks, and user interface systems such as Wonderware InTouch and FactoryTalk View;
  • Knowledge of the Tetra Pak Automation Platform (PlantMaster) is desirable;
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLCs (Step7 or TIA Portal) and familiarity with SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle are desirable;
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual and multicultural environments;
  • A strong focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to support customer facing situations;
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines;
  • Self motivation to collaborate, share knowledge, and support colleagues across different locations;
  • Clear communication skills to support remote troubleshooting and teamwork.
