We are looking for an Automation Engineer to work close to our Project Centre team, working independently on projects and pre-projects across different complexity levels (L0–L3+, from small-scale local initiatives to large regional and global projects).In this role, you will design, implement, and validate advanced automation systems that meet the highest standards of quality and innovation, supporting customers across diverse markets. Your work will directly contribute to safer, smarter, and more sustainable food systems, helping producers reduce waste, improve efficiency, and embrace digital transformation.

You will be based in Monte Mor, Brazil.
You may be required to travel up to 50% of your time, mainly to local customer sites, with occasional trips to the USA and LATAM.

What you will do
As an Automation Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design, development, and validation of automation solutions for food and beverage projects;
- Collaborate with account managers and customers to assess requirements and deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions;
- Prepare functional specifications for automation and electrical systems;
- Specify and procure materials for implementation, ensuring compliance with standards;
- Develop and test automation solutions, including process control, user interfaces, database management, reporting, IT/OT networks (Information Technology and Operational Technology), and electrical design;
- Work with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) platforms to enable real-time productin monitoring and data-driven decision-making;
- Execute system start-up and commissioning in partnership with process engineers;
- Deliver training to customer teams on installed automation systems;
- Present new designs and strategies that drive innovation and operational excellence.
We believe you have
- A university degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, Software Development, or related field, or equivalent practical experience;
- Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming and commissioning (Rockwell preferred);
- Familiarity with MES systems, virtualization, and industrial network integration;
- Working knowledge of ISA-S88 (batch control) and ISA-S95 (system integration) standards, or willingness to learn these frameworks;
- Experience in engineering, commissioning, and servicing automation systems, with solid troubleshooting skills;
- Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical systems (up to 600 VAC) and pneumatic systems;
- Competence in project management and stakeholder collaboration;
- Proficiency in English (oral and written);
- Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and SAP;
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset and ability to work in virtual teams across cultures;
- Availability to travel as required;
- CREA certification (mandatory).
