Job Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging and innovative automation projects within a global company while contributing to the success and growth of Tetra Pak's Converting factories. It also involves travel and the chance to collaborate with a global team, allowing you to gain valuable insights and experiences from professionals worldwide. Additionally, you'll be part of a team that's actively involved in transforming converting technologies for sustainable packaging and embracing the digital transformation of manufacturing technologies.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating complex automation projects while providing crucial technical support to our Converting factories. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of automation projects that align with Tetra Pak Global standards and exhibit a high degree of innovation.
The position is based in Monte Mor - Brazil.
You will be travelling approximately 30% of your time to our factory sites globally.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do
- Lead the testing, commissioning, and startup of automation systems, collaborating with the Converting Process team.
- Ensure that automation systems are integrated and operate in accordance with design specifications, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in existing automation systems, identifying root causes and developing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and product owners to ensure the timely and within-scope completion of automation projects.
- Act as an engineering team member within an agile team for product development and implementation, contributing to the improvement of automation solutions.
- Specify and request hardware and software resources needed for product development and automation projects.
- Conduct automation training sessions for customer personnel to ensure effective system operation.
- Analyze system designs to identify areas for improvement or modification, continuously optimizing automation solutions.
- Document automation projects according to Tetra Pak standards.
- Interaction with supplier to develop new applications for Converting Factories.
We believe you have
- Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, or related technical fields.
- Strong background in commissioning and troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
- Understanding and implementation of state machine concepts for control and automation logic.
- Proficiency in Siemens S7 and TIA platform for PLC programming, control system development, and competence in SCL programming for Siemens PLCs.
- Proficiency in SCADA configuration, programming, and ability to write VB Script.
- Experience in integration and configuring I/O devices in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in industrial data communication protocols like OPC UA, JSON, WebAPIs, MQTT, SQL queries.
- Understanding of virtualization concepts for managing and deploying industrial control systems on virtual machines.
- Experience in integrating vision systems inspection and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse multi-cultural teams, and stakeholders and suppliers.
- Working experience in Agile teams and the ability to work effectively within a virtual team.
- Must be fluent in English conversations, as well reading and writing.
