Job Summary
We are now searching for a Test Manager to join us in our Digital Solutions Development team!
Our Digital Solutions Development team belongs within PS&E Automation & Solution which is responsible for developing new Factory OS™. This is our next-generation digital ecosystem, built on open, modular smart factory technologies and decades of industry expertise.
You will be based in Modena, Italy or Lund, Sweden but you will work in a global arena.
What you will do
The Test Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating testing activities across test teams to support product quality and alignment with business goals. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic planning to build a resilient and forward-thinking test organization. Test Manager plays a key role in providing information that enables informed organizational decisions about risk, readiness, and product maturity.
As our new Test Manager, you will:
- Define, implement and measure the SW test strategy for Factory OS™.
- Build a solid and structured approach to SW Solution testing, turning from reactive approach into a proactive and long term approach on SW Solution testing before market release.
- Adopt and implement tools and methods to rise test quality, automatic testing, regression/non regression tests.
- Lead daily standups within the solution test team to ensure alignment and progress.
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure test activities, plan and results are aligned in the organization (e.g., programme team, scrum teams, business)
- Act as the primary source for reporting on test progress and quality indicators.
- Provide guidance and coaching to team members as needed.
- Communicate the value of testing to stakeholders, clarifying its role in risk management, prioritization, and product maturity.
- Define and maintain a long-term test strategy aligned with business goals and development methodologies (e.g., closer integration with Scrum teams).
- Drive process improvement initiatives and promote common testing standards across teams.
- Develop and execute a training and development plan for the test team, including test automation capabilities, certifications, and cybersecurity awareness.
- Evaluate and implement testing tools.
- Establish and track strategic quality metrics to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.
We believe you have
- You have a Bachelor/master’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Automation Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as Test Specialist or similar roles.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Waterfall models.
- Knowledge of risk-based testing, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Ability to design and maintain automation frameworks
- Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar for automated test pipelines.
- Understanding of tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK stack for quality metrics.
- Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
- Certifications like ISTQB (CTAL-TM), Expert Level, CSTM or equivalent.
- You are fluent in English written and spoken. Italian or Swedish is considered an advantage.
- You have good communications skills, written and spoken.
- Previous international studies/experience are considered meritorious.
