Job Summary

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer who will actively drive implementation of Supplier Quality strategic activities in accordance with SuM strategy and the shift from reactive to preventive quality mindset throughout the supplier base supporting Packaging, Processing and Services businesses.

Main areas of intervention are the following: product validation, supplier nonconformity eradication and supplier-related customer issue resolution activities.


In this position you will be based in Modena, Italy. There is some travelling required.

What you will do

  • Actively drive implementation of SQ strategy activities in accordance with SuM strategy, framework and tools to secure world-class quality from all suppliers.
  • Drive activities on systematic product validation with proactive quality controls in accordance with SuM category strategy.
  • Ensure eradication of issues at suppliers through structured problem-solving methodology, assessments, analysis and audits.
  • Secure transfer of products or phase out of suppliers with minimum risk exposure according to the SuM strategy.
  • Participate in supplier audits, coordinate and act upon audit findings, document adherence to process flows and necessary process control points are in place.
  • Visualize supplier performances.
  • Identify and implement appropriate controls and methods for measuring supplier quality, secure and validate documentation and manufacturing specifications.
  • Identify systematic Quality losses from suppliers and recommend systematic improvements.
  • Request and follow-up on supplier activities based on losses found.
  • Work as Supplier Quality responsible with Projects and Sourcing team to follow the contracts, Purchase Orders and product special specifications according to the project or process, delivery follow up, inspections at supplier and customer premises, correct quality deviations and documentation.
  • Participate in development of relevant methods and procedures.
  • Support Supplier Management in supplier selection and supplier base management.

We believe you have

  • You have already gained meaningful experience in similar roles, possibly in the Manufacturing/Automation/Automotive industry.
  • You possess a master’s degree in technical disciplines, most appropriately in Mechanical, Automation, Electronic, Chemical or Materials Engineering.
  • You have strong analytical skills, grounded interpersonal skills, first-hand knowledge of quality assurance management, and experience on continuous improvement processes and methods (WCM, 6Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or similar)
  • English knowledge
