Development Engineer for Injection Moulding Openings

Tetra Pak Packaging Solutions S.p.A. is seeking for open minded, highly motivated person to reinforce their team. Now we are looking for a Development Engineer for Injection Moulding Openings in our Development & Engineering Package Solution department in Modena. 

Overview of the Position:
The role includes involvement in various product development or customer support projects, from time to time leading or carrying out design, testing or problem-solving activities.

The development engineer participates in the technical development of our openings by contributing to the optimization of their performance, the production process and their interaction with the package itself, up to their use by the final consumer and its disposal, applying the current legislation and the Company product specifications, in partnership with suppliers, specialists and consultants.

The development engineer follows the various stages of the product's life, starting from the very first design concepts, choosing the most suitable technical solutions for the application and performance evaluation once the closure has been applied to the package.
 

What you will do

• Collect the requirements and define the product specifications based on the expected performance
• Define and guide product interactions with Tetra Pak products (machinery, product interfaces to equipment, transport, etc.)
• Plan and guide the design of injection moulded plastic parts and support the development of related moulds
• Choose and characterize the materials used, in collaboration with Tetra Pak internal specialists
• Define the test specifications, needed to measure and evaluate the performance of the openings
• Manage communications to and from the main stakeholders
• Validate the technical solutions concerning the closure
• Conduct or coordinate the test activities performed in our internal laboratory or with suppliers or consultants
• Verify and release the technical documentation relating to development activities

Who you are

Language and Education:
•    To be a successful candidate you should have a degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering (plastics is considered a plus) or Industrial Design.
•    You are fluent in both written and spoken English.

Professional Skills and Experience:
•    To be successful in the position you should have experience in the field of injection moulding.
•    Knowledge of the basics of mechanical processing as well as 3D CAD is required.
•    Knowledge of Creo will be considered a plus.
•    Experience with the SCRUM methodology is an advantage.
