Development Engineer

Our D&E department seeks to achieve value-driven innovation by defining new concepts, scouting for partnerships and applying new technology developments.

Within the Sealing Solutions & Materials Engineering the team, Sealing Quality is now looking for a Development Engineer that will secure focus and drive on sealing quality specification fulfillment in development projects.

This permanent position is based in Modena, Italy. 


As Development Engineer you will work within scrum teams together with different competences necessary to develop and deploy robust packaging and equipment solutions, representing the Sealing organization and capability. This  is a hands-on, operational position which requires understanding, and in the long run predicting, the sealing functions in relation to other subsystems in the filling machine.  In this work robust design principles and measurement techniques are important capabilities and the connection to virtual modelling is vital.  Your work will involve multi-countries collaborations and it is therefore important that you have good team-playing skills. 

What You Will Do


As Development Engineer you will:

  • Focus on securing optimal sealing performance at our customers by developing robust sealing solutions
  • Work within scrum teams with e.g. break down of requirements, development of test methods as well as verification of concepts in rigs or filling machines
  • Be engaged on issue resolution activities included also directly at customer’s sites
Who You Are


We believe that you have:

  • Master Degree in Mechanical / Material Engineering or equivalent 
  • Relevant work experience ( 0 - 2 years) is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken English language is a must, Italian language skill is an advantage 
  • Good statistical knowledge, manage tools as Minitab
  • Knowledge in automatic machine 
  • Knowledge in fundamental concepts, practices and procedures as theoretical knowledge related to the following skills areas: Aseptic, Sealing, Filling, Forming, In Line Plastic Molding, Food System Interaction, Mechanical Design, Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Advanced Virtual Engineering, Machine Material Interaction 
  • Excellent collaboration and problem solving skills
  • Personal drive and are independent in the exploration of the given task, taking initiatives and proposing solutions and actions
  • Customer focused mindset
  • High willingness to combine theory and practical task
