Job Summary

We are looking for a Development Engineer, who will be part of the Reliability Engineering Team based in Modena and Lund. The main areas of responsibility of the Team are the assessment of the reliability targets for components and sub- systems across the development domain of the Equipment Engineering department; the definition of the reliability growth strategy integrated into the Equipment Integration and the One Innovation strategies, ensuring the application of the reliability principles and methodologies in the development programs and the V&V activities. The lead of the Reliability Continuous Improvement Program and the Reliability Centers; the drive of the FMEA correct application within Equipment Engineering; the development of testing method; the application of measurement techniques and related equipment; the execution of the physical testing, laboratory analysis, documentation and sharing of the achievements is also among the responsibilities of the Team.
This is a permanent position based in Modena (Italy). You may be required to travel up to 20% of your time.

What you will do

  • As a Development Engineer (Lab Expert) within the Reliability Engineering team, you will be responsible for, and manage, a broad range of equipment’s for analysis and testing
  • You will be refence for a different range of instruments and advanced measurement equipment’s such as 3D CT- metrology, Optical microscopy, Electron Microscopy (SEM + EDS), IR measurements
  • Interact with broad range of stakeholders and manage communication related to your activities
  • This work includes the responsibility to make sure that the equipment’s are updated, calibrated, and serviced. It will also include troubleshooting individually, with suppliers and external service personnel Your technical knowledge and ability to resolve issues efficiently will be tested.
  • You will be responsible for delivering mainly packing Material analysis working in collaboration with a variety of development project in the area of sealing technologies. There will also be need for the development of different customized methodologies depending on project need.
  • Most of the work will be based in Modena but there will also be occasions where you will be needed at other Tetra Pak facilities around the world. Issue resolution cases at different customer sites might also occur.
  • It will also be essential part of your role to write Development reports to document laboratory results and findings, and share results with projects and stakeholders. Perform uncertainty calculations is a natural task within this area.

We believe you have

  • Academic degree in scientific subjects (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Chemistry) with strong technical interest and communication skills
  • At least 3 years of working experience within laboratory technology and quality analysis
  • Advanced knowledge and experience within 3D CT-scanning of both high dense and low dense materials, Matlab, VG Studio, Simpleware, ImageJ
  • Experience in Optical microscopy, Electron Microscopy (SEM + EDS), IR measurements, Knowledge of statistics, use of Minitab and SIMCA is seen as a strong merit
  • Experience in test method development, validation and six sigma methodologies
  • Very good knowledge of English, both written and verbal is a must
