Job Summary

As a Senior & Project Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall efficiency and reliability of the organization's equipment and infrastructure, will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
This position will be based at our Mexicali, Baja California factory and will report to Maintenance Manager
Tetra Pak does not sponsor work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do

As a Senior & Project Maintenance Engineer, you will:

 

  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, diagnose equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data, identify trends, and propose upgrades or improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute maintenance projects, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of capital expenditure (Capex) projects, including new installations, upgrades, equipment replacements, and process improvements.
  • Develop and manage project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Define project requirements, timelines, and resources needed.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments to evaluate project viability and prioritize initiatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS), project schedules, and budgets. Monitor and control project progress, identifying and resolving potential issues or delays.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, finance, procurement, and external contractors, to ensure effective project coordination and stakeholder alignment.
  • Manage projects budgets and provide regular reports on project financial status. 
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and achievements to stakeholders, including senior management, highlighting key milestones and performance indicators.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, implementing best practices, and sharing lessons learned across projects.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in maintenance and engineering to continuously improve skills and knowledge, also recommend and implement best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards during planning and execution of activities.
  • Train and mentor other staff members on methodologies, procedures, and techniques.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry (inside a factory).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role, preferably in capital expenditure projects within manufacturing, or related industries. 
  • Experience on equipment/machinery installations and coordinating services task
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) will be considered a plus.
  • Supplier/vendors management 
  • Interaction experience with relevant stakeholders as: finance, production and maintenance
  • Previous SAP management 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence team members towards goals.
