Job Summary
Tetra Pak’s Sustainability Operations (SO) team is at the forefront of implementing our sustainability initiatives across regions and markets. We are currently seeking a Sustainability Director for North & East Europe. In this role, you will lead a team of Market Sustainability experts across the region, partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to bring Tetra Pak’s sustainability priorities to life. A core focus of this role is on advancing collection and recycling programs for Tetra Pak cartons. You will engage with senior stakeholders in the food and packaging sectors, supporting Tetra Pak’s positioning as a leading, sustainable partner and ensuring our practices align with government sustainability regulations.
This is a permanent position that can be based in Lund (Sweden) or Warsaw (Poland).
What you will do
- Lead Regional Sustainability Programs: Implement Tetra Pak’s sustainability strategy, with a key focus on the collection and recycling of post-consumer Tetra Pak carton packages in collaboration with national Packaging Recovery Organisations (PROs), waste management companies, recyclers, customers, governments, and other partners.
- Drive Collection, Sorting, and Recycling Projects: Oversee project definition, business case development, monitoring, and performance evaluation for investment projects.
- Ensure Compliance and Reporting: Maintain compliance with regional collection and recycling targets, ensuring reliable accounting and reporting. Collaborate with Corporate Affairs on policy advocacy and support legislation that advances Tetra Pak’s sustainability goals.
We believe you have
- 10+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, ideally in the food and beverage sector.
- Expertise in sustainability principles, with a focus on circular economy and packaging waste management and recycling.
- Proven ability to integrate sustainability efforts seamlessly within broader business processes.
- Skilled in building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including regulators, industry groups, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical skills to turn data, including financial insights, into actionable steps.
- Leadership experience in managing teams, fostering talent, and promoting a sustainability-driven culture.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey Tetra Pak’s sustainability mission to senior audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large sustainability projects efficiently and within budget.
- Creative approach to addressing complex challenges in food packaging sustainability.
- Knowledgeable in financial aspects of sustainability projects, including budgeting and capital investments.
