Job Summary
An exciting opportunity opens within Base Materials Paperboard Technology. We are looking for a Material Specialist, that will have a key role in designing robust paperboard structures through modelling and simulations, to support Tetra Pak ambitions.
Within Supplier Management, we secure supply of sustainable, safe, price-competitive base materials at the required quality level for our factories and customers. We also support and contribute to base material innovation, addressing sustainability challenges.
The position is permanent, based in Lund and will include some travelling. You will be part of the Tetra Pak central Supplier Management organization, responsible for the paperboard technical supplier management. You will be reporting to the Paperboard Technology manager.
What you will do
You will be a part of a central competence centre designing robust paperboard structures through modelling and simulations. In your role you will also develop and improve modelling capabilities of paperboard to the next level. You will do this in collaboration with internal (e.g. development organisation and converting factories) as well as external stakeholders (e.g. paperboard suppliers, universities and research institutes) across different functional and international borders.
Focus areas:
- Support projects, concept studies and knowledge building activities to design robust paperboard through modelling and simulations
- Perform virtual Design of Experiments on paperboard properties, utilize real data for verification to improve the paperboard towards evolving customer demands
- Perform experimental measurements on paperboard and analyse data to take modelling and simulation capabilities to the next level with an ambition to create a digital twin
We believe you have
Your educational background is a relevant university degree equivalent to a PhD level. You have expert knowledge in the paper physics and solid mechanics areas as well as finite element analysis, mathematics and programming. Experience from applying modelling and simulations to real world problems, converting of papers and food packaging applications as well as technology development is considered as a merit. Work experience from paperboard industry and related technologies or packaging material industry is also preferred.
You are analytical, structured, a good communicator and have excellent spoken and written English skills. You are an open person who actively shares knowledge with others while enjoying data analysis. You deal with ambiguity as well as continuous change in a good way.
