Job Summary
Material design is a key area within Tetra Pak. At Materials Solutions in Tetra Pak’s Development & Technology organisation we design materials for our customers’ current and future needs. Identifying and defining material properties and defining the architecture for future packaging material are the core of future material developments.
As our new Material Specialist, you will be part of a team of material specialists working in Materials Solutions.
You are up to date in your specialist field and prepared to drive Tetra Pak questions in your research field, paper, internally cross Tetra Pak, but also externally together with collaboration partners, universities, and institutes. You will be responsible for creating technical knowledge in areas related to sustainable packaging materials and functionality. You are expected to propose and promote your ideas within Tetra Pak, while driving development both internally and externally.
This position is located in Lund, but you will work in a global arena. Some travelling is required.
What you will do
Main responsibilities:
- Driving development of new board & paper packaging materials and delivering packaging material solutions
- Leading technical studies and knowledge development by collaborating with internal and external resources
- Finding facts, solving problems, finding opportunities, and writing reports, independently as well as within a technical team
- Communicating plans, progress and results within your activities and competence area
We believe you have
Who you are as our successful candidate
- An educational background with a Master of Science in Engineering, or a PhD related to the fields of paper, papermaking and material chemistry.
- A working experience of 5-10 years from paper or paperboard industry, preferably from a paper mill or converter.
- Experience working with cellulosic materials and/or recycling are advantageous.
You are experienced in working with material development both theoretical and practically by leading development activities in lab environment, pilot plants as well as with external partners and to support commercial production set-up.
We believe that you are a clear communicator and good at building effective relationships with internal and external partners, as well as being a structured person that gets things done in an agile work environment. You naturally take initiatives and have the ability to coach and develop others. In addition, you have the interest and ability to handle the big picture in deliverables at the same time as being interested in technical details. A very good command of English both written and spoken is a must.
