Job Summary
Within Tetra Pak’s global Sustainability Operations team, which leads the companies Collection and Recycling strategy and supports markets on developing effective plans and business models, we are looking for a high performing circular economy or waste management professional to deliver a global step change in collection & sorting of liquid packaging cartons. You will work as part of a broad team of passionate packaging sustainability experts.
The role holder – Collection and Sorting Manager – will play a central role in the development and deployment of effective collection and sorting models across key markets – including EPR, DRS and voluntary models. The role holder will also lead on external partnership forums and the research and development of new sorting technologies.
What you will do
- Lead and support projects on the ground related to packaging waste collection and sorting systems and technologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and business objectives
- Develop business cases and models to support strategic decisions, including excel/financial modelling and scenario analyses
- Use advanced Excel/other tools to support data-driven decision-making
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across industry and value chain. Represent Tetra Pak on global and technical external forums / coalitions which support the roll out of collection and sorting infrastructure
- Identify and work with sorting technology partners and initiatives to assess system capabilities, identify innovation opportunities, and support infrastructure planning
- Create/update toolkits to support markets on implementation – informal and formal collection models – in collaboration with CA in markets where policy drivers are critical
- Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across industry and value chain
- Participate in evaluation of new business models to ensure step change in collection and recycling of liquid packaging cartons
We believe you have
- 8-10 years experience in waste management, circular economy, recycling related roles
- Strong understanding of recycling supply chains, Extended Producer Responsibility and Deposit Return Schemes, including working with or for packaging recovery organisations
- Solid knowledge of the waste management sector, including operational and commercial models
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within environmental services, sustainability, or public policy
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience in turning strategy into action
- Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of packaging and packaging waste policy / issues
- Excellent organisational skills, with a proficiency for strategic planning and continuous improvement
- Fluency in English is a must; additional languages are a plus
