Technical Product Manager

Job Summary

Be responsible for the technical management of a family of products within the Powder Handling portfolio. Based on the priorities agreed upon in the portfolio roadmap, develop, maintain, and improve the product throughout its entire life cycle in close collaboration with the product manager who leads the product specifications definition. Strive to create robust solutions designed for manufacturing and service, which are easy and safe to operate.

What you will do

Dimensions
a) Staff: No Direct Reports - 5 to 15 key supports from Business Streams, other Tetra Pak resources, or external suppliers.

Principal Accountabilities
In cooperation with the Manager Innovation Projects:

1. Drive the innovation activities within their scope of products, including assuming a system engineering role and responsibility in product development projects, participating as a technical expert in technology development projects, and ensuring benchmarking and technology watch.
2. Make all important technical decisions related to their equipment, being responsible for safety, quality, and performance.
3. Ensure the execution of product lifecycle activities with support from technical product specialists, including resolving technical issues raised by customers.
4. Ensure that feedback from all phases of the order implementation, including commissioning and the warranty period, leads to product improvements.
5. Be able to engage in discussions with customers regarding technical details of products.
6. Be the owner of the technical documentation of the product.
7. Coach others on the product.
8. Special role as a food safety officer for the engineering team, including hygienic design.

We believe you have

• Knowledge: Insight into the Dairy/Food industry, production, and products. Mechanical design engineering knowledge, including electrical and automation. Proficiency in MS Office package, SAP, CAD, FEM tools, Jira, and other relevant tools. Understanding of development processes, Problem Solving Methodology, and FMEA. Familiarity with equipment and food safety regulations, hygienic design, and risk analysis.
• Skills: Ability to train and coach with good communication skills. Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to drive and make decisions. Fluency in English and ideally in French.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering for special machinery in the food industry, with a track record of developing and maintaining high-performance, robust equipment.
• Education: Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
