Job Summary

Automation and Digital Engineer

Take charge of the technical management for electrical, automation, and digitalization within our Powder Handling portfolio. Guided by the priorities outlined in the portfolio roadmap, you will develop, maintain, and enhance our products throughout their lifecycle. A key focus will be driving the development of our stand-alone offerings by creating standardized, modular electrical and automation solutions that are easy to integrate. You’ll also spearhead the integration of cutting-edge digital technologies to deliver an exceptional user experience and intelligent systems that expand our service offerings.

Team: No direct reports, but you will lead and collaborate with a team of 3-5 people

The position is based in Le May sur Evre (49), France (the office will soon move to Cholet (49), France.

What you will do

In collaboration with the Manager of Innovation Projects:
1.    Lead innovation initiatives related to electrical, automation, and digitalization, including engineering activities in product development projects, as well as benchmarking, and technology scouting.
2.    Promote and implement an "Industry 4.0" mindset across our portfolio, integrating data point measurements, database management, AI, digital twin technology for data analysis and process optimization, and developing digital dashboards.
3.    Serve as the technical product manager for related equipment within the portfolio, ensuring safety, quality, and performance.
4.    Standardize electrical and automation practices across the portfolio.
5.    Oversee product lifecycle activities, including resolving technical issues raised by customers.
6.    Ensure customer feedback from all phases, including commissioning and warranty lead to continuous product improvements.
7.    Engage confidently with customers on the technical details of products.
8.    Mentor and coach others on product knowledge and expertise.

We believe you have

Education: Master’s degree in digital engineering or automation engineering.
o    Fluent in English; French language skills are a plus.

Experience:
o    A minimum of 5-6 years of professional experience in digital/automation engineering.

Knowledge:
o    Strong knowledge and passion for digital technologies and Industry 4.0, including databases, data collection technologies, AI, and digital twins.
o    Siemens and/or Rockwell programming is a plus
o    Electrical and pneumatic engineering.
o    Functional safety, including safe loop calculations (Sistema or Pascal) is a plus
o    Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
o    Familiarity with development processes, problem-solving methodologies, and FMEA.
o    Insight into the dairy/food industry, production, and products.

Skills:
o    Strong communication and coaching abilities.
o    Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to drive decisions.
