Job Summary

 

As the Head of HR Country Services, you will have the chance to excel in delivering HR services for Tetra Pak Malaysia (MY) and Philippines (PH). In a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will face varied and challenging tasks, requiring you to achieve results independently.

 

Your responsibilities will include managing labor and government relations, local policies, reward services, reporting, and compliance for organizations in MY and PH. You will collaborate closely with business leaders and various HR stakeholders, particularly the HR Service Center, to deliver core HR services across the region. Operating within a matrix organizational structure that spans functions, geographies, and cultures, your collaborative approach will be essential to ensure local compliance.

 

As an HR leader, you will manage a team of HR professionals and work closely with business leaders and HR stakeholders across Asia Pacific and globally. You will ensure the delivery of core HR services and maintain operational governance within MY and PH. Additionally, you will lead and drive HR Country Committee (HRCC) meetings.

 

You’ll be based in Kuala Lumpur or Manila and reporting to the HR Country Services Leader APAC.

What you will do

 

As the Head of HR Country Services, MY and PH, you will be responsible for the below:

 

  • Leads the review of local rewards strategy, policies and guidelines 

    o    Understands rewards strategy, policies and guidelines, act as local contact for global Reward projects
    o    Provides local support for rewards services (advise clients during rewards processes, work with the HR Service Centre to recommend pay increases for the country).
    o    Ensures quality and application of the benefits across the country.
    o    Supports and ensure governance around payroll and rewards.

  • Drives the labour relations strategy in the country 

    o    Manages relations with unions to secure agreements, effective grievances handling and facilitating annual salary negotiations (in cooperation with the rewards drivers).
    o    Facilitates conflict management between managers and employees and recommends corrective actions

  • Advise country regulations and updates

    o    Ensures compliance with country regulations including regulatory requirements on HR core processes and country specific regulatory training. 
    o    Acts as the main contact with country government authorities. 
    o    Manages internal /external audits and labour suits, including interacting with internal and external counsels and representing Tetra Pak in court when required.

  • Sets and governs country policies and procedures across all entities in the country 

    o    Secures legal compliance of HR processes and drives alignment with global processes where possible.
    o    Manages government relations and reporting: monitoring changes in country regulations and ensuring compliance; be the main contact with local country government authorities, such as social security, labor ministry and others.
    o    Implementing and governing applicable local country policies to ensure best market practices.
    o    Secures legal compliance of HR processes and drives alignment with global processes where possible

  • Supports Employee Engagement Activities

    o    Assist in driving Employee Engagement actions

  • Support Culture Change, Occupational Health & Safety, Diversity & inclusivity

    o    Ensure compliance with the relevant OHS legislation and Tetra Pak Safety procedures. 
    o    Lead and support the Market OHS team to ensure Tetra Pak meets all OHS obligations and responsibilities across MY and PH, and drive a Safety Behavioral Leadership culture.
    o    Introduce more best practice in the market to promote Safe, Engaging and Inclusive workplace

We believe you have

 

  • Proven experience in an HR leadership role within a governance environment. Understanding of ISO9001 standards is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in local labor law and experience in reward, and in managing relations with government and local authorities.
  • A proven track record of proven performance and driving change; and in building relationships with internal clients, colleagues, authorities and external partners.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management experience, with the ability to understand the business and way of working in a matrix organization.
  • High integrity and autonomy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions, geographies and levels.
  • Proven ability to manage conflicts and employee grievances effectively, delivering resolutions successfully.
