Job Summary

Project Center ASEAN is looking for a candidate as Senior Pre-projects Leader focusing on the Processing Business based in Singapore, reporting to the Manager Pre-Projects ASEAN. This position is mainly to lead Pre-Projects (5 MEUR or above) as an Appointed Pre-Project Manager leading an assigned pre-project team which will be created for each project.

 

We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team! In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Market Sales team to transform customer requirements into innovative concept designs. You'll lead the process from initial discussions to final design solutions, generating project costings with the support of cross-functional teams. You'll work with key departments like Business Stream and Supply Management, ensuring high-quality results within tight deadlines. You'll also present key project details—costs, risks, timelines, and performance targets—at Toll Gate meetings to secure approvals for firm quotes.

What you will do

  • Lead a team of assigned members across different functions for each pre-project to maintain schedule and deliverables as agreed.
  • Work closely with Market Sales both from Singapore and other markets in ASEAN as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with peers located in ASEAN and other supporting organizations at global or other regions.
  • Drive / Create Process Design solutions from customer requirements.
  • Conduct and lead design reviews.
  • Plan and drive Project Risk Assessment sessions.
  • Develop frame works for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculation.
  • Report and escalate shortfalls or any other deviations and issues on time to Manager Pre-projects
  • Benchmark comparison of quotations from suppliers and automation & electrical team.
  • Attend customer meetings to present solution and ‘feature-benefit.’
  • Provide detailed calculations of total project costing with supporting documents
  • Manage handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Support developing junior engineers and peers to build capable team together.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • 12-14 years of experience in Food Processing engineering
  • Strong leadership and human resource planning skills
  • Effective communicator, able to convey information clearly to customers and project teams
  • Proven negotiation and commercial discussion skills
  • Solid technical knowledge in at least two areas: process, automation, electrical, or utility
  • Led at least three large projects (€5M or more) with successful outcomes
  • Skilled in project planning and scheduling using MS Project (or similar tools)
  • Ability to delegate and maintain an overview without micromanaging
  • Experience leading commissioning activities is a plus
  • Background in Food Manufacturing is valuable
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety and hygienic design is essential
  • Quotation experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) for collaboration with international colleagues
  • Adaptable and able to handle uncertainty, with strong task focus
  • Ownership, consistency, and a learning mindset are key qualities
  • Ability to build confidence and communicate easily with customers and stakeholders.
