We are looking for HSE Engineer to join our team. As a member of the Health, Safety and Environment team, the purpose of this role is to provide HSE technical and/or administrative support to the site. You will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of the health, safety and environmental processes on site by assessing the hazards and risks, implementing actions plans and ensuring the respect of Group policies and local regulations. Implement the site’s HSE program in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Group’s HSE policy. Ensures implementation & coordination on site with the objective of protecting workers’ health and well-being and safeguarding the environment and community at large.

 

What You Will Do

 

As our HSE Engineer, you will;

  • Responsible for ensuring the Company HSE Policy, Procedures and Programs are implemented, understood, and ensuring their effective utilization.
  • Ensure Company's sustainability and KPI database is managed and accurately maintained, tracking, and analyzing trends for improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in all regulatory inspections and audits (Corporate HSE, ISO 45000, ISO 14000, FM Global, CERT, MOM safety inspection, etc) and ensure agreed actions are promptly implemented.
  • Manage the Internal Audit Plan to ensure that all elements of the HSE MS are independently audited to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and keeping records of the inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
  • Participate in risk assessments (workplace, fire, hygiene, machine, etc) and evaluating how risks could be reduced to as low as possible.
  • Establish a continuous improvement program, system to site operation in accordance to industry Best in Class practice.
  • Review, track and analyze all hazards, near misses and incidents to ensure that suitable improvement actions are identified and taken.
  • Participate in incident / accident investigation, review incident / accident reports and recommend effective mitigation measures.
  • Responsible for driving a positive safety culture with the aim of achieving a zero injury rate, campaign and advocate Behavior Base Safety program to promote site HSE culture.
  • Lead and drive teams (i.e. HSE Safety Committee, etc) to proactively improve projects/activities.
  • Manage and deliver internal safety training courses to improve safety understanding and behaviors to build site HSE competency in accordance to Training Need Analysis conducted.
  • Involvement with project team on qualification of new equipment and modification on site from a HSE standpoint.
  • Endorsement of permit to work system and on-site inspection to ensure work activities are being safely followed.
  • Ensure a robust emergency response and incident management approach is in place, through the organization and co-ordination of evacuation drills.

Who You Are

 

We believe you have; 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or related technical discipline. 
  • 5-10 years hands-on experience in Health, Safety and Environment operation in manufacturing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical or Chemical industry
  • Obtained necessary qualifications to be registered as Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO).
  • Experience in implementing and sustaining ISO managements systems (such as ISO 45000 & ISO 14000)
  • Ability to partner and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to write procedures, reports, prepares charts and analyses data.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment as well as work independently and a self-starter
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Meticulous and exhibit a high level of integrity
