Regional Customs Manager Turkey/Africa/EAEU

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional Regional Customs Manager, who will lead the workforce management and development, be an expert in optimization (Free Trade Agreements and other special regimes allowed by local customs authorities), monitor regional risks and regulatory developments, drive customs brokers performance management. Regional Customs Manager will be the escalation point and support on problem solving for Customs Operations for Imports, Exports and the above mentioned Special Regimes and Benefits.

In this role you will be managing the Turkey, Africa and EAEU region.

The position will be based in Turkey. You may be required to travel 25% of your time regionally / globally.

2. Manages multiple teams through professionally qualified managers or business experts

3. Accountable for the end results of the part of the operations / business area

4. Understand how each element of the strategy relates to their area of responsibility and to have considerable input into the strategy of the overall business area at regional/ global level

5. Develop, drive and implement World Class performance in alignment with group and cluster strategy

6. Ensure the right competences are in place to deliver objectives

•    Drive regional customs team and manage people development.
•    Guarantee trade-flows optimization and the accurate application of special regimes
•    Manage regulatory developments and all risks for customs operations – import and export.
•    Resilience, ability to handle ambiguity & dynamic environments.
•    Collaboration & conflict management (internally and externally with logistics providers/ customs brokers)
•    Build and keep communication with local and regional key stakeholders.
•    Manage and support problem solving in the customs operation, and also support business needs.
•    Ensure compliance of Free Trade Agreements, IPR, Drawback and all benefits Tetra Pak can apply for, as well as guarantee full compliance with local regulations. 
•    Lead the implementation of cross functional procedures with customs brokers and Logistics to standardize and align data declared in customs declarations.
•    Perform the origin qualification of all goods exported to countries that have signed Trade Agreements with European countries.
•    Be responsible for customs tariff classification and approval.
•    Responsible to close open gaps related to the Internal and external Audits.
