Job Summary
The Equipment Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and compliance of all equipment and machinery manufactured and used by our customers. You will play a critical role in promoting safety by enforcing safety regulations are followed, conducting internal quality inspections to ensure we are on top of equipment safety, and providing training/education to employees related to equipment safety. This role will be seen as the go to person within Business Stream Cheese for advice on CE.
You will be based in Heerenveen, Netherlands or Olsztyn, Poland.
What you will do
- Oversee the safety compliance of equipment designs and manufacturing processes to meet industry standards.
- Support in conducting risk assessments and safety system audits for all equipment produced and used in the manufacturing process, for product development and project execution.
- Support in checking and maintaining product standard documentation to ensure readiness for project execution.
- Collaborate with Technical product management and Engineering to integrate new safety features into new and existing products.
- Be a speaking partner for equipment safety disputes. The norms can be practically interpreted in different ways, if internal disputes are happening the safety officer can decide based on minimum safety requirements.
- Evaluate new standard templates from internal global level and determine applicability and usage for BS cheese. Decide on if we need to implement, what parts we need to implement and how this can be implemented.
- Be a speaking partner to the Tetra Pak food-solutions equipment safety network.
- Support the investigation of equipment-related safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on equipment safety protocols and best practices.
- Provide guidance on regulatory updates and ensure all equipment meets current safety standards.
- Provide guidance on the transition from Machine Directive 2006/42/EC to Machinery Safety Regulation 2023/1230
- Collaborate with management to develop and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Qualifications you should have:
- Relevant certifications such as
- CMSE – Certified Machinery Safety Expert
- CEFS – Certified Expert in Functional Safety
- CECE – Certified Expert in CE Marking
- Proven experience in equipment safety, preferably within a manufacturing environment
