Automation Engineer
Based in Heerenveen, the Netherlands
Summary of the job:
As an Automation Engineer, you provide your automation expertise and experience to the facility in the electrical, instrumentation and controls disciplines primarily for Cheese processing systems. With your excellent problem solving and communication skills, you are responsible for the engineering, implementation, documentation and commissioning of the control systems for the Cheese Processing Systems and working in close collaboration with other project disciplines to deliver our business objectives. You ensure that projects are delivered on time with a strong focus on safety, quality, budget & schedule adherence. Worldwide travel with an average of 30% of your time is part of the role.
 

What you will do

•    Work independently to deliver an agreed portfolio of projects under the leadership of the relevant Project Manager
•    Be an active member of the automation projects from order to customer take-over by doing the engineering, implementation, testing, documentation and commissioning of the controls systems (PLC, MES, SCADA)
•    Ensure professional project execution at factories and customer sites with strong stakeholder management by leading meetings, (daily) reporting and training customer resources
•    Executing automation life cycle activities and provide automation operational support and consultancy to the own facility as well as to other Tetra Pak organisations and customers
 

We believe you have

•    A University degree in Information Technologies, Automation Engineering or equivalent
•    At least 5 years of relevant work experience
•    Ability to demonstrate through experience, a thorough knowledge of Automation, PLC’s Siemens TIA, Rockwell AB), SCADA (Wonderware, Rockwell), Industrial IT (networks, virtual machines, etc.) and data handling
•    Good knowledge and proven understanding of processes and equipment in the food/dairy industry preferably the Cheese industry
•    Working knowledge of Engineering software like AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Visio
•    Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required
•    Strong analytical skills, an open mind with a proven result-oriented attitude to deliver projects to the highest engineering standards
