Job Summary

Become part of the project engineering team where you will be delivering mechanical design solutions and specifications to fulfill our customers’ needs. You will use your knowledge and expertise to tackle complex challenges as an integral member of our project teams.

This role is based at the Tetra Pak New Zealand Head Office, in Hamilton, Waikato.

What you will do

  • Lead the mechanical scope of a project from design through installation
  • Create and manage 3D models and technical drawings
  • Plan, lead and supervise mechanical drafters
  • Conduct internal and external 3D design reviews
  • Contribute to project schedules and resource plans
  • Design structural elements e.g. pipe racks and platforms
  • Perform inspection of fabricated equipment at supplier workshops
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and legislation
  • Oversee equipment installation on-site
  • Assist with commissioning activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives 

We believe you have

  • Bachelor of Engineering, preferably Mechanical        
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience                                                     
  • Experience in the food/dairy industry is a plus                                          
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Openness to keep expanding your knowledge and acquire new skills
  • A punctual, reliable and accuracy-driven attitude
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD tools (Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or Plant3D is a plus)
  • Ability to travel locally/internationally for short term assignments
