Process Engineer

 

We are looking for a Process Engineer who possess excellent process technology and engineering skills and deep understanding about production solutions in industries like Dairy, Beverages, and Prepared food industry.

 

You'll be based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

What you will do

 

As the Process Engineer, you will:

 

  • Carries out and manage pre-project and implementation activities from Engineering and commissioning perspective, in compliance with the Tetra Pak Project Management UCCD-process and according to Project Governance procedures
  • Develop production solutions technically as well as commercially.
  • Advising and supporting the commercial team with regard to customer presentations including technical support.
  • Design, specification and calculation of the process in proposal engineering for the benefit of quotations.
  • Working out the process in a P&ID and managing the process design of the installation in close collaboration with the other members of the project team.
  • Writing specifications for components and assessing the progress and quality of the components at the supplier’s works.
  • Technical analysis, documentation and descriptions for quotations
  • Develop production solutions by specify and size components, modules and flow equipment as per product and capacities requirements. 
  • Design the sanitary flow system for distribution of products and CIP in the plant. Prepare consumption data for utility 
  • Generate the function description (which will be used for developing automation solution for the plant) and detailed layout.
  • Documentations 
  • Provide customer training 
  • Ensure that any solution proposed or developed above is made with the following attributes in mind:
  • Customer needs
  • Company standards and procedures
  • Relevant and agreed specifications
  • Other contractual obligations
  • To participate, plan / lead on-site commissioning process activities in co-operation with responsible site manager, Automation engineers and customer representatives. 
  • Take accountability on the process for guarantees on the product quality and optimised total cost of ownership.
  • In the end of the project, to participate and prepare the handover procedure and material for general plant operational support to internal company after sales service department. 
     

Who you are

 

We believe you have:

 

  • An Engineer Degree in Dairy Technology / Food Engineering any relevant fields
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of practical experience working as process engineer in process industries. 
  • Project work experience on planning, procurement, coordination of detailed design activities, Coordination with internal & external agencies like automation, commercial, procurement, logistics, customer, consultants, sub-suppliers, outsourced agencies 
  • Experience on site coordination (site contractor & site engineers)
  • Technology and process knowledge from the Dairy & Liquid food processing industry. Experience in designing production solutions for Manual and / or automated plants.
  • Experience in Evaporation technology will be an advantage
  • Expertise in using AutoCAD for process design will be an added advantage
  • Good computer and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a team and also independently.
  • Self motivating.
  • Fluent knowledge of English, written and spoken.
  • Problem solving attitude.
  • Broad commercial awareness.
  • Have the ability to work under demanding timelines and situations.
