Mechanical Engineer 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will independently in project and/or pre-project teams within New Zealand (L0-L3+ projects)

 What you will do
 As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Work with technical solutions in L0-L3+ projects.
- Provide support in issue and claim resolution in L0-L3+ projects.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and or end suppliers for engineering parts.
- Validate/ review technical solutions for engineering parts.
- Make customised technical solutions in line with Tetra Pak Strategy, standards, guidelines, tools and methods for mechanical design.
- Make drawings and specifications in time, with correct quality and at specified cost.
- Travel to customer site, as needed, for the installation phases.
- Undertake engineering design work as required in the areas of mechanical design, layout design and installation, including selection of equipment.
- Ensure statutory approval, verification and certification are obtained for all mechanical equipment as required by Government legislation and Tetra Pak standards.
- Coordinate, supervise and lead teams of draughts people for the production of mechanical drawings.
- Coordinate with on-site contractors and suppliers for the installation of new Tetra Pak projects and to ensure equipment is installed by all subcontractors in accordance with the suppliers & Tetra Pak specifications.
- As required by the Project Quality Plan for each Tetra Pak project carry out workshop and manufacturing inspections during fabrication and prior to release for shipment. 
-Travel will be expected. This will be as required by the projects and could be for periods longer than a month.
- Act as an ambassador for Tetra Pak.

 Who you are
 We believe you have:
- Proven mechanical engineering experience preferably within the dairy or beverage industry. Applicants with experience from other industries such as oil & gas will be considered.
- Skills with AutoDesk inventor, AutoCAD, plant 3D, will be strongly preferred.
- A practical ‘real world’ understanding of the design and assembly of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- A genuine interest to work on different phases of project delivery, through to the installation phase, and a willingness to 'step up' & work closely with project teams to get things done, to ensure a successful project delivery.
- Demonstrated technical skills, understanding in installation needs and site operations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills when working with drafts colleagues.
- Project management skills and the self drive to work autonomously.
- An open approach, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across multiple geographies.
- Experience in project implementation.
- 2-5 years (Full time) relevant experience.
- A University Degree in Engineering would be preferred
