Job Summary

 

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical skills (Fitter Turner background preferred) to work independently within Tetra Pak’s service and technical teams, supporting customers in New Zealand’s dairy and food industry.

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for executing preventive maintenance and installation tasks on customer equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will manage the technical aspects of equipment maintenance, and utility systems, while ensuring adherence to scope, budget, quality, and schedule.

This position is based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

What you will do

As Maintenance Engineer, you will:

  • Execute preventive maintenance activities in line with global Tetra Pak standard procedures and reinstate equipment into production.
  • Disassemble and mechanically assemble capital equipment at customer sites.
  • Execute testing and calibration activities.
  • Use TPMS tool to report preventive maintenance and corrective work.
  • Proactively contribute ideas for customer business development.
  • Execute all work in accordance with OHS and Tetra Pak safety regulations, promoting a safe working culture.
  • Act as an ambassador for Tetra Pak, ensuring strong customer relationships and sustaining our reputation

We believe you have

  • High school or technical school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on hands-on mechanical work.
  • Trade experience as a Fitter Turner or Trade-qualified Maintenance and Diagnostics  is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to independently deliver preventive maintenance, installation tasks, and rebuild kit installations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, precision fitting, and problem-solving skills
