Job Summary

 

Commercial Finance Manager/ Business Controller

 

This is a commercial finance role, acting as the business unit’s financial conscience and partnering closely with operational leads to drive performance and decision making.

You will be able to interact with in different levels of the organisation, such as processing director, finance director, sales and project managers. As a Business Controller at Tetra Pak, you will use your finance and analytical skills to support the Projects team, sales team and finance team while driving commercial outcomes.

 

The position is based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

What you will do

 

As the key Financial Lead for the Business unit, the requirements of the Business Controller will be:

 

  • Analyse the financial implications of business cases, costing simulations or other transactions so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against the organisation’s business objectives
  • Prepare timely and standardised business performance reports.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis explaining the key drivers.
  • Collect, compile, verify and analyse financial information and economic indicators.
  • Main financial business partner for Project and Sales teams while reporting into the Finance Director.
  • Take an active role in financial planning and forecasting process with variance analysis.
  • Clear and confidence communicator with commercial curiosity and analytical skepticism.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and controls by identifying inefficiencies, challenging existing ways of working, and implementing practical improvements.
  • Work collaboratively across finance, projects, sales, and operations to influence outcomes, align financial discipline with commercial objectives, and support delivery of business results.
  • Ensure financial policies, procedures, controls, and governance guidelines are followed, escalating and reporting non compliant issues and risks in a timely manner.

We believe you have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance
  • 5 years of experience in similar roles, with preference to multinational companies High level of flexibility, analytical and detail skills
  • Strong IT skills Microsoft Office, Business Object, Power BI
  • Previous experience in SAP or similar ERP system
  • Good command of English, both oral and written.
