Job Summary

As a senior member of HR Country Services (HRCS), while reporting to the Head of HRCS - SAM, you will be local representative of HR for all the employees based in South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal) and external stakeholders.

This position is permanently based in Chakan, India.

What you will do

This role of a Seasoned HR Generalist, will demand you to work in all aspects of HR Management & Leadership, while particularly owning aspects like:

 

  • Policy Formulation, Implementation & Administration: In line with Tetra Pak Global Policies, Local Legal requirements, local industrial norms & practices, support Head of HRCS – SAM in development and implementation of policies. Lead the administration of these policies for entire SAM. Support / Lead the communication on Policy Matters, Lead Audits and Ensure Compliance. Educate & Handhold People Leaders across levels, based in SAM as well as Remote Leaders in interpreting and administering the policies for their teams.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Maintain a continuous, proactive communication with all levels of employees including blue-collar, cultivate trust-based relationships with all teams. Actively use platforms like Employee Engagement Surveys and Employee Interactive Sessions to promote healthy dialogue. Actively work towards resolving employee concerns. Maintain & enhance the employee retention. Work closely with HR Factory Representative (HRFR) in driving the employee relations, engagement & retention in Factories. Lead / Participate in Key Engagement activities like sports & welfare.
  • Rewards Management – In line with Global C&B and Reward Strategies & Policies, along with SAM Legal requirements and industry practices support Head of HRCS – SAM in developing & implementing C&B and Reward practices for SAM. Work with Regional and Central C&B Team on the matters of Long Term Employee Benefits and other allied subjects, as per need of local conditions. Support Head of HRCS in perioding review of the matters. Drive reward programs like Excellence Awards and other merit or service-based rewards for SAM. Work with Mobility Team on Short Term as well as Long Term mobility cases, advise Mobility team suitably for local Employment Terms, Social Security, Taxation & Work Permit rules.
  • Change Management – Support HRBPs in development & implementation of Organizational Change Management for SAM based employees. Be a part of Global, Regional and Local Continuous Improvement projects aimed at supporting Tetra Pak Strategy and enhancing Dynamism, Productivity & Capability of the Organization.
  • Support to Management Leadership Team – Support Management team in people management, including Performance Management and Performance Improvement. Advise & handhold them on the matters of Employee Communication, Engagement, Issue Resolution and Team Effectiveness. Support the Management Team for matters pertaining to various aspects of HR Service, by working closely with other HR Service delivery teams like Talent Acquisition, Payroll, People Data, Mobility, etc.

  • Compliance & Discipline: Monitor local regulations for all the Countries in SAM (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal) and update Management for changes; support Head of HRCS in making suitable policy changes. Ensures compliance with local regulations in SAM as well as Tetra Pak Global HR Policies.Lead the employee grievance redressal, including whistle blowing cases. Implement robust discipline procedures and administration of the same in line with local legal norms. Educate employees and people leaders on Code of Conduct, Standing Orders, Whistleblowing, POSH and other such aspects.
  • External Relations: Support Head of HRCS in maintaining healthy Industrial Relations with external stakeholders like Government Authorities, Local Bodies & Representatives, Society at Large. Lead / Be part of key CSR and Employee Volunteering Programs aimed at maintaining health IR. Represent Tetra Pak at external relevant forums.
  • Contingent Workforce Management: Plan and administer the Contingent Workforce management actions for all countries within SAM, with the help of HRFR. Monitor the use and effectiveness of contingent workforce, resolve issues, support hiring managers and supplier managers for contractual matters. Supervise compliance with local legal norms. Review and Continuously Improve the systematic issues.
  • Culture, People Development & DEI: Be the ambassador and a role model of Tetra Pak Culture. Lead the actions to promote existing good culture and implement culture enhancement programs in SAM. By participating and supporting key learning initiatives, promote continuous Capability Building and People Development. Advise Management team on People Development wherever relevant and guide individuals to the avenues of self-development. Actively lead and drive DEI initiatives, monitor & enhance diversity in SAM workforce.
  • Local Know-how Expert: Work with HR Service teams, various HRBPs and other Central Teams as a Local Know-how Expert, on all matters of HR like Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Mobility, Organization Restructuring, Manpower Planning, Manpower Outsourcing, Legal Aspects, etc. Work with these teams to bring about best results for SAM based teams. Initiate / participate / support Continuous Improvement projects that have impact on SAM employees.

We believe you have

  • MBA in HR from Reputed / Premium Institute in India, with 13+ years of experience, preferably as a Generalist HR with Multinational Companies.
  • Ideal candidate would have worked in a Manufacturing Plant at some stage of career and has eventually moved into Corporate / Country / Regional HR Role.
  • Demonstrable - Integrity, competence & energy, along with growth mindset.
  • Very strong communication skills – proficiency in English, Hindi and preferably (not mandatory) in Marathi, including written communication, presentation & public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Exposure to Employee Relations.
  • Strong knowledge in local labor laws, exposure to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal will be an added advantage
  • Strong Data & Analytics skills
