Job Summary

 

We are looking for a Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager who will be responsible for driving key performance indicators in Safety, Health, and Environment within the factory. You will support the senior manager on the site to ensure compliance with the group's OHS policy and associated procedures, and to drive continuous improvement towards Tetra Pak's goal of zero accidents and work-related ill health. In this role, you will be able to lead a site OHS team and drive change in the majority of OHS subjects independently. Ensure delivery of the Corporate OHS strategy on the site. You will also lead the activities related to the environment to ensure internal and external compliance with environmental policies and regulations, providing leadership in all areas of safety, health, and environment.

You will be based in Gotemba, Japan and report directly to the Plant Director.

What you will do

 

As our Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager, you will:

 

  • Champion OHS and Drive SHE key performance indicators in the factory.
  • Lead the WCM Safety & Health Pillar to drive continuous improvement activities in the factory
  • Provide OHS and Environment advice and guidance to the Factory Director.
  • Establish and maintain systems to support the Group OHS/Environment policy/procedures and local legislation.
  • Maintain a record of OHS/Environment incidents and monitor the completion of follow-up actions.
  • Monitor compliance with agreed site OHS/Environment policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that an OHS/Environment training plan is in place to cover the significant risks on the site.
  • Ensure timely delivery of correct data to agreed internal and external social and environmental reporting platforms (i.e., SoFi, Sedex questionnaires).   
  • Ensure that third-party audits are planned and executed according to group requirements in the areas of Safety, Health, and Environment and legal compliance (i.e., Sedex, ISO 14001).
  • Prohibit any activity that is considered a danger or a significant breach of OHS/Environment legislation

We believe you have

 

  • At least 8+ years of proven experience in an SHE role in a manufacturing environment and 2-4 years in management role.
  • Certified a First-Class Health Supervisor (第一種衛生管理者) and Fire Prevention Manager(防火管理者).
  • Familiar with ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Experience to implement regulatory standards on manufacturing area is preferable
  • Experience to manage security aspects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
  • Strong understanding of relevant local safety, health, and environmental regulations, particularly those pertaining to industrial settings and machinery safety.
  • Proven ability to lead a site OHS team, drive change in all OHS subjects independently, and foster a strong safety culture.
