Job Summary

We are looking for a Director Corporate Affairs – Circular Economy, Nature and Packaging Policy, for a strategic advisor role to lead policy stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships in this area and to develop and drive development and deployment of the global Tetra Pak policy toolbox related to circular economy, nature and packaging policies.

In this role you will be part of the global Corporate Affairs team working closely with our Packaging Solutions business unit, our Corporate Affairs markets team of 20+ professionals as well as in our Sustainability and Communications teams and other business units. As Director Corporate Affairs – Circular Economy, Nature and Packaging policy, you will report to the Vice President Corporate Affairs and you will have a team of two collaborating with you in the internal and external activities in these policy areas.

Stockholm- Sweden is preferred location BUT other Tetra Pak office locations in Europe are also possible

You may be required to travel 20% of your time globally.

What you will do

As Director Corporate Affairs – Circular Economy, Nature and Packaging Policy, you will:

• Monitor global policy and regulatory developments in the relevant policy areas as well as emerging trends, and assess issues with potential business impacts within; propose response strategies and solutions and inform business decisions.
• Innovate on models, initiatives and strategies to engage in circular economy related policies and practices in support of business strategy, R&D and innovation.
• Lead internal governance and regulatory risk readiness on circular economy, nature and packaging policies ensuring that relevant functions understand the emerging policy changes and are equipped to take action based on this.
• Lead Corporate Affairs collaboration with the Packaging Solutions Business Unit, Development and Technology, Supplier Management, Sustainability Operations, Corporate Sustainability and Communication teams in areas of circular economy, nature and packaging policy and preparedness.
• Build and manage relationships with policy stakeholders – especially at global level- including multilateral organizations, thinktanks and civil society while positioning Tetra Pak as partner and solution provider for positive change within the area of circular economy, nature and packaging.
• Lead and coordinate global and/or regional advocacy campaigns and external positioning with government bodies and policy stakeholders; identify external opportunities and platforms to lead strategic collaboration and deploy thought leadership.
• Secure stakeholder support and build alliances with industry partners and/or NGOs; represent Tetra Pak in relevant trade associations and stakeholder platforms.
• Build and manage relationships with key policy stakeholders as well as coalitions with competitors/industry, NGOs and other influencers, secure Tetra Pak representation in key industry associations and networks. 
• Build and enhance capabilities within market teams engaged in advocacy, ensure adequate external support

We believe you have

• Advanced Degree in economics, international affairs, environmental engineering and/or similar preferred.
• Min. 10 years spent in a Sustainability or Public Affairs related role, specialized in circular economy, nature and/or packaging relevant issues.
• Global experience in a related role in a multinational packaging or FMCG company, consultancy or a Public Affairs firm; understanding of circular economy and packaging issues and trends in different geographies. Technical knowledge of packaging materials, packaging and recycling is a strong asset.
• FMCG, food, beverage and/or packaging industry knowledge is preferred.
• Expert in developing innovative partnerships and working with management and business leaders.
• Can demonstrate ability to present and interact effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated characteristics such being persistent, an achiever, and excellent communicator on all levels.

Language skills: you must master English on high level, both in writing and speaking. Spanish is an asset.
