Maintenance Technician


We are seeking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain and perform repairs on production equipment. In this position, you will perform troubleshooting, corrective, preventive maintenance on equipment, respond to calls to support production, and perform analysis for continuous improvement.
The position is based in Denton, Texas, USA.
Tetra Pak is not considering applicants (Internal or External) who require international relocation to the United States.

What you will do


As a Maintenance Technician you will: 


  • Adhere to all Tetra Pak safety polices, including 9 Life Savings Rules, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit to Work.
  • Create, Prepare, and execute Preventative, Corrective and Calibration work orders.
  • Create documentation for maintenance tasks specific to equipment (work instructions).
  • Train PM technicians and AM operators on the execution of work instructions.
  • Respond to breakdown calls throughout the factory and repair equipment accordingly.
  • Perform troubleshooting independently on equipment and determine failure reasons and anomalies thru structured problem-solving methodology.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Maintenance plans to prevent repeat failures.
  • Contribute with the Planned Maintenance methodology within the Plant area.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel in rebuilding and/or redesigning production equipment.
  • Works on continuous improvement activities and teams.
  • Set up and operate a lathe, drill press, grinder, mill, and other fabrication tools and equipment as needed.

Who you are


We believe you have: 


  • Highschool diploma/GED required; 2 year technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the maintenance field, ideally in an industrial/production setting; food packaging or converting industry is preferred. 
  • Experience in electrical components, sensors, motors, VFDs, also controls / PLCs, mechanical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes
  • Experience in automation and project management will be considered a plus
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the use of maintenance tools and equipment such as a lathe, mill, grinders, drill press, etc. 
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and using troubleshooting methodologies
  • Intermediate office tools and reporting systems 
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Basic math skills, basic reading comprehension
  • Ability to read, understand and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, standard operating procedures and continuous improvement processes
  • Ability to run root cause analysis and promote improvement suggestions
