We are looking for a Business Development Manager, who will help us to develop and drive profitable growth plans for Prepared Food and Plant Based categories in Food Processing. Markets to cover will be USA, Canada, and Mexico. Your objective will be to identify business growth avenues and maximize Tetra Pak's “ability to win” in those: participating in sales activities, developing capabilities in Market Companies and Project Centers, supporting the creation and deployment of action plans, shaping, and driving the use of reusable solutions and best practices to maximize the value proposition, and being part of portfolio innovation lifecycle. The role includes leading the development of key initiatives in line with the Market Companies “go-to market” strategy, ensuring seamless cooperation across the organization, and supporting the execution of these plans.  
This position reports to the Director of Business Stream Prepared Food and Plant-Based in Liquid Food Solutions and will be based in USA. 
Please note that this is an individual contributor, not a people management role.
You can be based in any of our offices in Denton, TX, Winsted, MN or Vernon Hills, IL 
You may be required to travel up to 30% of your time regionally / globally

What you will do


As a Business Development Manager, you will: 
 

  • Be focus on increasing Tetra Pak market share in Prepared Food and Plant Based categories
  • Contribute to prospecting, generating, and qualifying leads in the focus applications, nurturing a pipeline of opportunities and expanding the number of new customers in USA, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Work closely with the commercial team in Business Stream, you will support Market Company on sales strategy and value proposition in key commercial cases and participate throughout the global category strategy lifecycle.
  • Generate sales opportunities and participate in negotiations.
  • Develop relationships with key customers.
  • Identify uncovered areas of profitable growth, prioritize and set a strategy to capture it together with local team.  
  • Synchronize global strategic initiatives with specific market activities.  
  • Maximize the value proposition with leading product and solution performance guarantees. Driving competitiveness in solution delivery.
  • Provide support to the local sales team and project centers during opportunity/project lifecycle, connecting experts to customers. 
  • Build up local capabilities for mid-long term business consolidation. 
  • Ensure customer experience improvements in the respective subcategories.

We believe you have

 

  • Bachelor´s Degree in related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in processing equipment sales.
  • Experience in Business Development and/or Key Account Management.
  • Experience in the liquid food processing industry; understanding of Prepared Food and/or Plant-Based business in USA, Canada and Mexico is an advantage.
  • Technical understanding of the liquid food processing; technical knowledge of Prepared Food and Plant-Based technologies is an advantage.
  • Experience in strategy management.
  • Experience in dealing with higher-level executives among customers.
  • Experience in developing and participating in business strategy planning.
  • Strong business acumen, a clear understanding of the company's strategy, and a high level of customer orientation. 
  • Be a highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude, open-minded, capable of developing effective relationships and working across boundaries and levels within the organization. It's important to understand the nuances of different cultures and navigate global business environments with ease.
  • Excellent commercial/negotiation and communication skills are essential, and given the international nature of the role
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required, Spanish is a plus
